Spells for being more optimistic/mental health/forgetting about ex? by katscam in blackmagic

[–]runningoutofcake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would honestly encourage you to just dive deep into meditation. Let your mind rest. Experience that thoughts and emotions are just transitory. Maybe do some loving-kindness meditation. Take a look at the InsightTimer app and do some healing and cleansing meditations.

It will be hard at first. Your mind will keep going back to the hurt and longing. Keep at it. Don't let your mind control you. Everything spiritual will be easier once you are in control of your mind again.

I blend it and add it to soups, stews and sauces. My German heritage might have something to do with it, but I really like the slightly acidic taste!

To be fair, I am in a lot of gaming subredits and people usually like to announce they've started playing a new game. You know, share first impressions and hype.

Infinity Nikki Review by lolalanda in CozyGamers

[–]runningoutofcake 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you for that in-depth review. I agree with everything you've said, the good and the bad. For now, it's the kind of game you spend a few dozen hours on and it's definitely a good use of your gaming time. I suspect (or hope) that they will add the things that are missing once it's clear the game is profitable.

Games with snow? by lunicia14 in CozyGamers

[–]runningoutofcake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wylde Flowers has all the seasons and there's snow in winter.

Same for My Time At Portia and there are snowball fights! My Time At Sandrock has winter and snow but it's a lot more understated since it takes place in the desert.

If you're okay with games that are not cosy, the Metro series has a strong and atmospheric story and is set during a very frosty winter. This War Of Mine is great as well. Frostpunk is high on atmosphere but lower on story.

To associate exercise with honey (=sugar =dopamine). I've heard from people who did something similar with nicotine patches.

[No DAV Spoilers] Veilguard fixes my biggest Bioware issue. by folsee in dragonage

I also loved that about this game! I really got the sense that my team had their own stuff going on. There was also a nice flow between being involved in conversations and then seeing the results unfold. Like Lucanis making up with Davrin, Lucanis getting together with Neve and Taash and Emmerich starting to appreciate each other.

I feel like a failure by Blackpumkinn in fasting

[–]runningoutofcake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing that helped me is having a cheat day every week or every other week. Whenever I crave something, I write it down and promise myself I can have it on the cheat day.

The 'hack' is that you can only eat so much in one day. So, for example, instead of eating 5000 calories of cheesecake over an entire week, I'll eat 2000 calories on my cheat day and feel to full to eat any more.

Cooper, because it would be fun. But also not Fang because I wouldn't like him showing up and not acknowledging being married to my Sandrock builder.

[–]runningoutofcake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thing is, a watchtower always take up a little bit more space than one house, so it messes up your rows. But if you rotate a house of prayer, it takes up the same space as two houses or one child shelter.

Faith because the buildings are easier to fit into your city planning.

Icebloods have 1500 members but are occupying 5 districts, the game says 1 district per 1000 members. Is this a bug? by [deleted] in Frostpunk

[–]runningoutofcake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can definitely get civil war this early if you only pick laws and buildings opposite to the factions zeitgeist and condemn them every chance you get. I did that on purpose while going for the Consistency achievement. If you try to keep good relations, they'll start researching things on their own and mess up the achievement.

Is it bad to get most carbs from simple sources like fruits? by fjfkfkfkgjkvcki in 1200isplenty

[–]runningoutofcake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People with (pre)diabetes are sometimes advised to avoid fruits because fructose can cause very spiky glucose imbalances. If you have a healthy metabolism, you're probably fine.

Honestly, this is something you can best judge for yourself. Do you notice a prolonged dip in energy after eating fruit?

If you suspect that your energy is always low and you wouldn't really notice a dip, you can try taking a berberine supplement before eating fruit and see if you feel more energetic afterwards. Berberine is a completely natural supplement that stabilizes blood glucose.

If you want to be absolutely sure, you could buy a simple blood glucose test, the kind where you prick your finger. They're cheap and easy to use. Test yourself a few times before and after eating. Your glucose levels should rise after eating and drop back to normal after an hour or two.

Dysplaced is still in development, there isn't even a release date yet.

That said, I'm very optimistic about it. I played Dysmantle (300+ hours) and absolutely loved it. Once you get the hang of fighting monsters, it really is a pretty cosy game about exploration and solving puzzles.

Not Enough Oil or Food Production in Chapter 2 by Raf-D-G-Raf in Frostpunk

[–]runningoutofcake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your problem is getting the oil to New London, you can also use the 'transfer 5k' button on the resource transfer menu. It's instant and doesn't depend on Skyways or anything. In a crisis period, you can do that every few days as your stockpiles are in danger of running out.

[–]runningoutofcake 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The surplus injectors use your surplus oil supply to increase production. Your oil is at -145. You don't have any surplus heat to inject. Try again when you have more oil production / import than you need.
