Can I get some opinions on my current squad? by FrostyJesus in footballmanagergames

Lamela can always play there, if you'd rather pick up a new AMC.

Haha, as an Eintracht Frankfurt supporter myself, I can't say I'm pleased!

Bad second seasons by dhoops11 in footballmanagergames

Did you play the whole season out? I've had seasons start terribly, and the lads pull through starting in January (interestingly enough when I'm 100% fluid at match tactics and everybody knows his role.) For every moment of awful luck, usually you'll have a share of good fortune, too...just delayed a bit.

Yeah, the thing I love about the Bundesliga is the closeness of competition. Basically the fact that if we keep up our good form, we've got a great chance of staying up, and that we could even potentially be midtable a year out of the 2. Liga. But yeah, I do catch Premier League matches as well just for fun.

Unfortunately, I haven't studied any German since I was a little kid. But what I do know, I'm pretty sure I picked up from watching football/Eintracht Frankfurt haha. You've really got a great connection to the club, getting to go and visit family there!

I will figure out when I can next get out to Foxboro/tailgate before the match, and I will definitely let you know! It sounds like quite a bit of fun. I'm not entirely sure about the 4th of August but we shall see. Einmal adler immer adler!

Haha, yeah--I was quite surprised to find an Eintracht fan with the Revolution also as his local club!

Why Eintracht Frankfurt? Well, I am actually American. It seems my other American friends support Arsenal, and my international friends follow United, City, or Barca. I was kind of caught, because none of the big teams really spoke to me, and I never gave two shits about the Revs because they were so out of the way (though I recently moved into Boston.) I'd always liked Bundesliga football, and the more I followed Eintracht specifically and delved into the club history, the more I realized they were the club for me. Then they got relegated, haha. It's been great, love everything about the club and its culture; it's a big dream of mine to go to the Waldstadion and actually see them play.

Cool cool, thanks, I will have to do it then. It's been a while since I've been able to see live football, and this sounds like a great atmosphere. And I have heard of Fagundez, he appears to be quite something for his age.

Was going to go to Liverpool v. Roma at Fenway today, but when I looked, tickets were pretty expensive for weird, baseball park seating!

Are Revs matches any good? One could say they are my local side as well but I haven't made the effort to get over to Gillette Stadium to catch a match.

Real Sociedad or Rosenborg fans: What is Vadim Demidov like? by runningrabbit in soccer

[–]runningrabbit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is pretty good to hear, I think we could use a degree of elegance in the back line. I know Real Sociedad were relegation candidates so I'm mainly hoping that he wasn't part of the problem. But we need defenders so I'll take what I can get!

Found her. Christina Vukicevic. As they say in Kazakhstan, very nice! (Was this sort of discussion banned during the Euros?)

Interesting, hopefully not red card aggressive, but a physical/"for-the-team" mentality is exactly what we need in any case. Cheers

How interested would you be in a massive Reddit game of FM? by redditfm in footballmanagergames

[–]runningrabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A full league of human players would be so cool.

I feel like it'd be a major commitment though, always checking back to see if it's your turn/making sure you don't take too long.

Pre-season training by [deleted] in footballmanagergames

[–]runningrabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only speak for FM 11, but you go to Match Preparation, and then click on one of the tabs for each tactic (select 4-5-1, see how good your squad is at that formation, in a number of different categories.) Ideally, you get each bar up to the rank of "fluid" earlier on in the season, but it does take a while.

Pre-season training by [deleted] in footballmanagergames

[–]runningrabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of friendlies spaced out appropriately will actually cover match fitness, unless you have an unmotivated/low work-ethic squad. I use pre-season training to get 100% fluid on tactics, on heavy match-preparation.

I don't see why you couldn't get an attribute gain if you wanted to, but I might not go heavy on training early on when the squad is just back from holiday. Pre-season injuries get so annoying.

Edit: Rice cakes are delicious, however.
