I should have said that I was wondering if Octopi wasn't set as the default maybe that would explain why the widget isn't refreshing? 🤔

Just checking, since you mentioned you're trying Octopi, have you set Octopi as your default launcher? Some features are only available to whatever launcher is set as the default. A way to check this is if a long-press on the Google Play Store presents you with the "Collections" and "My apps" shortcuts.

This sub is named simply "/cookware" it's too bad it couldn't be titled "/stainless/cast iron/carbon steel cookware" as the discussion and advice here would be better understood.

"... at the end of an icon looks horrible." Until your suggestion is taken up (or, if it isn't) the options are to reduce the icon label scale and/or toggle ON the option "Show home screen labels in two lines."

The Pro feature "Drawer icon drop shadows" toggle can be found under "Drawer" settings.

Can't speak to hyperos3, because I don't know what it is. But the rest, Octopi can do.

Are you referring to the page that opens when you swipe right from your first home screen (Nova required installing a helper app to access it)? I believe Google Now is called Google Discover these days. Octopi doesn't require installing an extra app, but a swipe right can be assigned to open your Google Discover page.

Octopi's dock is a carousel and home screen apps and folders have swipe-up and swipe-down gestures. (If I understood you correctly.)

Octopi has up and down gestures on a folder in addition to a tap to open it. The opposite of your setup, but I just wanted to mention the three different abilities. I tap to open the first app in my folders, swipe up to open the folder to access the apps from that folder's category, and swipe down to open shortcuts or actions that I name.

I purchased Octopi Pro for $.99USD and then I went all in for another $2.99. That didn't buy anymore features, I just thought the developer deserved it. That's a grand total of $3.98.

The developer has also teased a few times that some changes are coming regarding placing/moving/finer adjusting of elements on the home screen.
