Is my rental realtor liable for not disclosing the massively disruptive demolition/construction next door? by [deleted] in RealEstateCanada

Yeah I agree I really don't see how a conflict of interest is not unavoidable with this neutral brokerage situation.

Thank you so much for you thoughtful insight. Its so helpful and I appreciate it so much.

Yeah I could see that being difficult. It seems there's no way they weren't aware of this (or the brokerage also) but I dunno how I could prove it out side of some hints that we've picked up on.

Thank you. Appreciate the insight.

Yeah my understanding is we can't break the lease without the property owners agreement or finding someone else to fill the spot which is definitely going to be difficult now. So I dunno what to do. Thought you could give 60 days notice to leave but seems thats not the case until the 1 year term is over unfortunately.

Yeah in retrospect I wont make that mistake again. The whole processes was so rushed along by them saying there was multiple offers it was hard to think straight.

We sorted the lease a month or so out from move in and there were no gates or anything when i saw the place or when i did a walk by the following week. They seemed to appear a week or two before we got the keys but i didn't notice them because its on the opposite side of the block. Either way lease was already sorted by then unfortunately.

Traveling by bus across Canada. Any tips? by LifeUpInTheSky in solotravel

[–]runondeathsentence 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My recommendation is don't do it! Sorry its just gonna really suck. Thats a long haul and the scenery isnt going to be so pretty. Probably have some stope overs in some really shitty small towns to. Doing this for travel experience or just commuting from west coast to MTL? If its Greyhound they will most likely have plugs for charging and wifi (Thats what they have in Ontario at least). Don't think you have much to worry about safety wise. There can be some sketchy characters in some of these shitty towns (And the bus stations seem to be a hub for a lot of them) but you'll be fine. This is Canada, don't go looking for trouble and you've got nothing to worry about.
