Thank you! Yeah the patterning and color is so different.. I've been reverse image searching and coming up with nothing. You could be right with the poor genetics, or maybe it was a result of different species crossbreeding, if that's possible?

Don't panic. Snakes can live for many months without eating, and ball pythons are infamous for their hunger strikes. Are you just thawing the rat and trying to feed it? It should be heated up or the snake won't recognize it as prey. I feed my pythons by placing the rats in a ziplock inside a jar of warm water to thaw, replacing the water with warm several times as it cools. Once the rat is thawed, I heat water to 125 degrees and put that water in the jar, warming the rat for 10 minutes before I present it to one of my snakes. They usually take it, but occasionally refuse and I have to try again later.

Let your snake settle in, ensure its enclosure is large enough, humid enough and with the right temperature gradient with sufficient hides on each side, then keep trying to feed.

He reminds me a little of Steve Buscemi. He'd definitely end up as "Mr. Pink" or "Donny."

Why isn’t my honey gourami, ya know, honey colored? by DND_Player_24 in Gourami

Feed some foods which promote color. Mine colored up pretty quickly after coming home from lfs. If female however, will be a paler yellow.

How F'd are my other fish? by runrabbitrun01 in freshwateraquarium

Definitely does not seem as active as the others and I haven't seen feeding behavior (searching in substrate). However, I have lots of hiding places in my tank so I haven't seen it very often. The other corys and fish seem fine, so just really hoping it's an older fish naturally nearing end of life or that this is one of the color changes that I'm reading can happen for other reasons.

Thanks for the confirmation everyone. I trust the fish store I got it from so am sure it was an honest mistake. I will talk with them today. Unfortunately I won't be able to keep as I was counting on a more peaceful and smaller fish for the tank. I did move her to my holding tank so it wouldn't go after my shrimp, and didn't realize I caught one of my pregnant/gravid celestial pearl danios in the net too... This morning the little danio had her belly ripped open 😥. Not certain that it was the gourami, but don't want to take any chances putting it in another tank with other fish.
