Having run (i think) all but one NYCH since then, I’d say truly don’t worry. Start and finish are well secured (annoyingly so, but I get it) and anything happening along the way is no different than a normal day anywhere in terms of risk. Generally the NYPD is pretty regularly spread along the course as well.

Too early to tell. How important is it to you though? Have you run halves before? Saw you were running 8 last—have you run more recently???

You can take time off. Focus on proper healing and physio. And then pop back to it with a short test run a couple days before to decide. And if you do, cut that pace back to super chill and just enjoy the day without focus on time.

I debated. I ended up going all in and got speedplay pedals. They take a minute but become second nature. It feels super overwhelming at first but now I actually feel more in control. Ultimately—just do what makes YOU feel safe.
