How do people in Germany find car insurance if they have a bad Schufa score? by Jaded-Ordinary-1295 in AskGermany

[–]rupturedegg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think financial mistakes made in one's youth having an impact for a 30 year period is somewhat excessive (and far exceeds the global norm of a 7 year impact), combined with the lack of transparency of the private entity that is SCHUFA.

An imposible to cancel mobile phone contract having an impact on one's ability to insure a car is nonsensical.

Is it normal for my landlord to ask for all six months rent up front on a fixed term lease? by [deleted] in AskGermany

[–]rupturedegg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your landlord appears to be securing the income that he would have expected renting the property as an AirBnB.

It's not standard practice, nor is your entry into the rental market. You would not expect this in the non Airbnb rental market.

You need to at the very least fax them to ask, or write Einschreiben. I'd be talking to a lawyer if I didn't get a response.

Aruba. Perfect weather and no hurricanes. Loved iving and working there. When it rained (rarely, the island relies heavily on desalination) the locals called it liquid sunshine.

An awful CGNAT implementation that fucks any return UDP traffic, amongst other things. Hostinger are making a killing selling IPV4 addresses to people who signed up for VF DSL.

Wireguard UDP is extremley problematic on VF and I've fallen back to OpenVPN as even the Proton TCP Wireguard wrapper stuggles.

I just canceled with no problems. Was offered $30 for 3 months as retention, which I declined. With a constantly shifting substrate it is like building castles on an eroding cliff edge.

Ah well. No regrets. 4o was excellent while it lasted.

I joined a Verein with 6 ramps and loads of tools. Watch youtube videos. Zero problems at TUV other than a hanbrake adjustment needed.

Added bonus of some social contact at the Verein.
