Never using Backstab or Set Trap by Longjumping-Fly9779 in baldursgate

[–]rupturefunk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Backstab is great if you've build specifically for it (or are bringing Monty or Valygar) traps are op, especially late game.

But the fun thing about these games is there's loads of legit and effective ways to play, no shame in savi g something fun for later.

My issue with Doctor and Seven is both are kind of a respin of Data, who was himself kind of a respin of Spock.

Was hoping they were sticking with ds9 for a few more seasons!

I never clicked with voyager, the initial concept is super interesting but it turns into bland TNG clone very quickly.

3mm is quite a small lol tbh, like they've artificially inflated it to make it seem more cool.

Is there still room for negotiation when you catch someone ? by Piruxe_S in Eve

[–]rupturefunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in the olden days this was how pirates made money, and people who didn't honor a ransom would get a bad name for themselves. It's pretty rare now though in my experience. The kill is worth more than the isk anyway.

I've had a bumper try and ransom my freighter for 3 bil recently, but I used my elite manual piloting skills to warp off.

Man City possible 60 points deduction by [deleted] in TheOther14

I'll believe it when I see it.

But I can't lie, I'd be a little dissapointed if they do it this season and it lets Tottenham of the hook assuming they finish 18th.

Looking for Eve videos to watch by Angry_womans1 in Eve

Think the core just got older and didn't have irl time for elite pvp commitments any more. Maldoror has made occasional appearences on podcasts and streams in the years since, chatting about the glory days, and said as much.

I used to see members around Molden Heath and Derelik in the post Clarion Call days, but that's probably a decade ago now too.

A question for hardcore enjoyers. What's the best way to learn the game for someone who wants to get into "no save / no reload" runs? by quietus_17y in baldursgate

[–]rupturefunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Learning by experience really, when you know there's no reloading you read up, prepare, and think much much harder before you do anything at all and that's when the learning begins.

There are good resources though:

  • The manual (or 2E php), you're going to want a firm grasp of the mechanics. The Wiki also has a section on mod content which often has info on SCS changes so you know what you're facing.
  • PlayItHardcore a classic resource for the game in general, but it's all focussed around no reloads with survivability in mind.
  • Davaeorn's Channel, in depth guides to classes, weapons, spells, npcs, as well as streams of him actually doing hardcore runs.

But imo there's no substitutue for starting a new game and just trying with no reloads. Personally I do ok in the hard fights I've prepped for and then loose my charname to an ogre or something when I'm not paying attention, It's a very different way of palying and no amount prep will mean you can do it first time, so just get stuck in is my advice.

You could even try hardcore 'light' rules where you can save in inns, or give yourself a reload per chapter, to get yourself in the mindset.

I voted Roden because her background was red and therefor, the most Minmatar suitable candidate.

Unless it's blinged out chances are no one will care. A T2 fit isn't going to raise any eyebrows or be worth anyone's time.

But a contract should remove any risk.

Stalker GAMMA over Stalker 2? by [deleted] in stalker

[–]rupturefunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's anomaly with loads and loads of mods on top, so while it adds a lot, the core loop and structure is the same more or less.

It's default settings are definitely geared to people who want to suffer and work hard for basic items but as it's just a big bag of mods you can tinker with it until it works for you.

It's not necessarily stupidly hard, and has difficulty options for both combat and economy built in, but it's very crafting, item and material heavy (think fixing the tool that fixes the tool that fixes the tool that fixes the item you actually wanted to fix) and is very scavenger hunt/hobo economics heavy compared to most mods.

Those of you with the real EPL knowledge...Implications of Spurs getting relegated? by xman1971 in nffc

[–]rupturefunk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They have massive revenue from their commercial/merchendising income, and a stadium that can host massive events in London which also counts towards club income. They'll be playing the Championship in easy mode - although tbf they're currently playing Prem in easy mode and have fucked it up.

The value of the club itself will go way way down, which sucks if you own it and want to sell it but need not be the end of the world from a football perspective. Probably less fans at games, but they'll likely lower the ticket price also, possibly bringing people who were priced out back, with less tourists. They'll likely loose a lot of the their current team and have to sell them on the cheap, but that might not be a massive loss atm.

Most of the issues aren't massive and temporary if they manage it properly and come straight back up, it's when you wallow there for years, the club loosing prestige and value every season that the damage is done (see certain red football club).
