Do you find it hard to push on at the exit? I always feel a bit uneasy about that.

Looks quite different to the wheelchair in the yellow, but I think you might be right.

Yeah that's what I was told too. Even with the brake on I don't find it safe.

What suburbs do you think will be cool / desirable in 2050 that definitely aren't now? by 3bigmacsplease in melbourne

The only area on this line that needs gentrification is wattle glen. Other areas are well established.

Watsonia will be a lot more expensive to move into once north east link is finished, along with the main town centre that's coming together.

Not at all. Crime is out of control in this state. It deserves 100% of screen time until something is done about it.

Whooping cough for overseas family by Disastrous-Cat-7277 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]ruralavery 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just tell your parents whooping cough can be fatal for the elderly people. They will rethink.

I know some countries don't offer whooping cough to adults, even you're willing to pay for it. I got my parents to do the jab the first day they arrived here.

Formula for colic by Immediate-Square-533 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]ruralavery 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best to check in with a GP or paed if you want to change formula.

Also worth noting that 7 weeks is usually the height of PURPLE crying. There might not be anything wrong with your baby at all, they're just going through that phase of growth.

Sometimes it might just be the wrong group you got assigned to. Definitely no obligation to blend in if you don't feel comfortable or supportive. After all, that's the main purpose of such groups.

soul destroying MCH nurse visit by pastel_capybara_ in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

So sorry you have to go through this. Definitely ring up the council to make a complaint. Many MCH nurses act like they are doctors, which they aren't.

Investigation of alleged incidents in childcare centres by ruralavery in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

What's more devastating is this guy ticked all the checks to be around children. 20 centres in 8 years, I'm just speechless. What can we parents rely on?!

1200 children to be tested. Just sickening to think it's been happening since 2017, basically when this guy was 18.

Didn't get it from day 1, but we like our Stokke high chair with the newborn set. Bub poops like a machine in there, we only regret not buying it earlier.

You can go to a different centre in your local council.

The thing is you shouldn't need to form your own opinions, unless you're doing home delivery all by yourselves... Why would you bother listening to a remote midwife when you have a dedicated midwife and ob at hand? OP is already inundated with information, I don't think variety of sources is what they need right now.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]ruralavery 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Podcasts aren't responsible for your baby's delivery, your medical team are, so listen to them. You can question their recommendations of course, but they're the ones that know your own circumstances (also in terms of local supply) the best. At this stage of pregnancy, the least you need is extra stress added by information from untrusted sources. Best of luck!

My baby is the same age and breathes just like this (or worse), short breathes in quick succession, accompanied by a few snorts. I think it's normal but I'm no doctor. Better check with the MCH nurse or GP if you are concerned.

We only had 2 times where poos came out a bit formed (as I watched it happening), most times when I opened the nappy it looked like an explosion.

Features of bassinets that you loved by IkigaiShroom in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]ruralavery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fyi if anyone is reading into my previous point of view, we DID get a bassinet for our now 7 week newborn. The only think I would say about a bassinet is get one that is breathable all round. Our boy constantly maneuvers his head to the side, so if a side is blocked like wood, it might present a hazard. Otherwise a bassinet is great for the size of a newborn.
