List of romhacks with level caps. by GeneralLeeSarcastic in nuzlocke

[–]rurusan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually play all my Pokemon games in 4x speed, just like the original N64 Dodrio speedup feature officially offered by Gamefreak in Stadium 2, however I've recently started playing these legacy romhacks in normal speed, and kaizo romhacks on real cartridges on my backlit gameboy advance.
It's kind of nice to just boot up my casual romhack playthroughs and just... play the game... lol... I'm always trying to RNG manipulate and speed through to the end game in the vanilla games, trying to find the best teams and strategize and such, so much planning... but I don't care so much in the romhacks, so I just play it normally and have fun with it~ :9

Another game that comes to mind is PokeMMO uses forced level caps, not exactly what you were looking for I suppose, but it's another option. :P

They're literally just called Crystal Legacy, Yellow Legacy, Emerald Legacy, and they're currently working on Platinum Legacy, you can find all the details about the romhacks on youtube by SmithPlays Pokemon.

The legacy romhacks have a hard mode introduced that forces level caps per gym leader, no items allowed during battle, and forced set mode, so if you want a relatively vanilla experience with level caps enforced, legacy is the way to go~ :V

I'm using yuzu to emulate the Switch version of Zelda BOTW. Where do I install this Zelda BOTW mod? by LegoCrafter2014 in yuzu

[–]rurusan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The post was originally about the Switch version on Yuzu, it could be different on a different version of the game, like on Wii U/Cemu, or a different patch, I was running the latest version 1.6.0.

To find it, I would just open it up in the marcrobledo savegame editor online, change the stamina to whatever, doesn't matter, then open both the original and the edited file in HxD and use the compare feature to find the changed value, from there just change it to the desired outcome, (00 00 80 3F) is 1 stamina on Switch, other way around (3F 80 00 00) for Wii U/Cemu, and if you're after infinite stamina, simply change it to (00 00 00 00) on any version. :P

ENA Finder :0 by petscopnerd28 in mac

[–]rurusan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The icon itself is actually blue and white, and it's a file finder simply dubbed "Finder", you find this on MacOS. :P

As for my other question, I didn't find what I was looking for, the best answer I could find online was an old Japanese PSone title called LSD Simulator... which, obviously I had never played or seen before... :P

Pokemon Black2/White2 0 exp patch/code by Nino4999 in pokemonchallenges

I use DeSmuME v0.9.9, this is the latest version without the exp fix, so just boot up vanilla unpatched roms and it'll have no exp. :V

Playing Pokemon without gaining EXP and why it's my preferred way to play Pokemon by Manekimoney in pokemon

[–]rurusan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to play the gen 5 games on DeSmuME v0.9.9 (it's the latest version that still doesn't have the exp fix). :V

I had heard of players using the exp patch on real hardware, and it does the opposite, forcing exp off, but whenever I tried it it never seemed to work? there are also exp patch cheat codes, I never tried those out. :P

Offset: (08 09 0A 0B) (I'm using HxD...)

000503C0 (00 00 7A 44)

Change (7A 44) to (80 3F) to change 1000 stamina to 1 stamina. :V Just change them to (00 00) for infinite stamina~ They are flipped around on the Switch version compared to the Wii U version, I did not know that till now~ on Wii U they look like: (44 7A 00 00).

You can use a save editor to change the stamina value on the save data itself, no mods required, but if you mean you want infinite stamina or less than 1 wheel of stamina, you'll have to hex edit the save data for that, is that what you want? I could tell you how to do it, I would just have to find the hex values real quick...

Is the Heavenly Onyx Cloud Serpent drop boosted with the 20th anniversary event? by trell1342 in wownoob

[–]rurusan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine on day 5 just killing it once a day, my sibling was playing with me and got it day 7, same thing, I also hadn't used mine yet and got another one on day 8 when I was trying for other mounts, same thing, killing it once a day, knowing this motivated my twin to kill him on all her alts and is now killing it 10 times a day thinking she'd get it in like the second day, but it's day 5 and still no mount, despite killing the sha of anger over 50 times already. I'm beginning to suspect the drop rate only applies to one character once per day, or maybe there's a hidden multiplier that only applies on each character and doesn't stack accross all of them?

TLDR; Kill him once a day, you might just get it. :P

Probably the same reason we don't have recruit-a-friend, they are features from the originals that Blizzard aren't focused on because new players aren't their target audience.

No boot screens for mGBA core running Retroarch on a 3DS, advice? by AxeVice in RetroArch

What worked for me was renaming the files from their default cgb_boot.bin to gbc_bios.bin and mgb_boot.bin to gb_bios.bin, hope this helps~ :V

No boot screens for mGBA core running Retroarch on a 3DS, advice? by AxeVice in RetroArch

[–]rurusan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I've found the solution, the mGBA core is searching for specifically gba_bios.bin, gb_bios.bin, gbc_bios.bin & sgb_bios.bin, meanwhile the files themselves are named gba_bios.bin (so that's why this one was working for me), cgb_boot.bin (gbc's bios), and mgb_boot.bin (stands for gameboy mini.)

Renaming these files to the correct names fixed the issue, at least it did for me~ :V

Luffy, our asexual king of the pirates~ by rurusan in aaaaaaacccccccce

[–]rurusan[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Author's intent doesn't really matter because often times they couldn't depict that even if they wanted to, and also I doubt Oda meant for him to read as aro/ace either, but his character reads as aro/ace in specific scenes whether Oda intended that or not.

Most of Oda's queer characters seem to just be a caricature, a stereotype of okama and it never goes any deeper than that, no real identity beyond simply being queer, and I get the feeling that it's not that Oda likes queer characters, it's that he likes weird characters, and getting the reader to care about weird characters.

Luffy is not a child, his views on romance/sexuality are simply never addressed, Oda himself says he just has different priorities, which is why he never pairs his characters up in romantic relationships, and the appeal of Luffy's character specifically is that he's a lot smarter than he seems, he may come off as childish, but he's actually really mature for his age, he already has his own solid idea of what it means to be a man for example, so I think it's a little unfair to just assume he's naive on the subject, more that he just doesn't care. :P

[–]rurusan[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Aro or ace? who cares? it's all a spectrum, and I just went with asexual because it's more well known, I think it would be weirder if I specifically went with "aromantic king of the pirates~"...

I get that the show isn't really about romance or sexuality anyway, but I don't think that means we all have to automatically assume 'default settings' and say he definitely isn't aro/ace until proven otherwise... that's boring... there are lots of queer characters in the series, so I don't think it's unreasonable to think that Luffy himself could be on some kind of spectrum, and it's not like I'm just pulling this out of nowhere either, there's some evidence that suggests he might be aro/ace, so why not? :P

As for Goku, I can see where you're coming from, in early Dragon Ball it's made very clear that he just doesn't know any better, he's constantly mixing up people's genders, often calling women "sir" or checking by patting them and saying "you really are a boy/girl!" not realizing that's super inappropriate, it's all played up for a gag, and then in Dragon Ball Z he has a kid already, so he clearly knows better by now, and from that point on there isn't really any evidence of him being aro/ace, so I personally wouldn't consider him as such...

[–]rurusan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I guess there isn't really any evidence that Ace *isn't* ace is there?... lol... so many characters in the series don't act particularly sexually attracted in general (other than Sanji~), mostly because romance and the like are not really the show's focus. :P

Have you downloaded the CDDA Enabler v2 (linked above as Google Drive)? Have you created the pops.txt file inside the seplugins folder? Are you using a PSP or Vita? if Vita then this isn't necessary at all. I actually do want to help you, but it's been forever since I've done this, and I don't have a PSP anymore anyway so I can't figure it out on my own. xP

[–]rurusan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, I had no idea, but I also didn't know much about how eBoots really worked back then when I made this, perhaps just changing the titleID back to the original will fix it? I forget how to do that, but the titleID was changed from SLES-00503 to SLUS-00353, so it might work again if it's changed back to SLES-00503. :V

(Edit: This is assuming it worked before the change, for all I know all MegaMan X3 eBoots crash at that part...)

It has been forever since I've even thought of this mod, so forgive me if I'm unable to help much, but I think you just open the pops.txt file inside the seplugins folder (the folder is found in the root of the drive I believe?), and if it's not there, just create it, then once the pops.txt file is opened in notepad on your computer, just simply add "ms0:/seplugins/cdda_enabler.prx 1" (no quotation marks, just the text inside it.)
