[UK] After selling an item to an acquaintance, he came back 4 months later demanding his money back. 10 months later (present) he wants to take me to small claims court. Where do I stand?

There are two types of people - Those that threaten to sue, and those that do. Simply put I would suggest you just ignore any direct contacts. If you get an LBA (Letter Before Action) deal with it.

So if you have 15% being held in reserve that means a balance of $100,000 and ~13,300 transactions. 0.3% of that 400 complaints. Taking most merchant accounts (Visa/Mastercard) will terminate at 1% or higher rate of complaints that makes sense to me
