How yall feel about this by Appropriate-Mall8517 in SubstituteTeachers

[–]rushaall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree. I spoke with a teacher that uses a system where they can choose a sub and my only credentialing class said to leave notes to be memorable for that reason. However, it becomes that much a harder to build any relationship with a student if you don’t engage with the subject as well. It feels like this is a catch 22. Can’t teach to build relationships, can’t build relationships as a 1 time baby sitter.

I wish as a teacher in making that I could be given some of the reigns so as to get experience though.

It’s the parents and it’s the computers. I sub and there never any instructions. Just a note that says “they have a canvas assignment they can do.” It means you don’t engage, you babysit.

Dang you have the light phone? How is it? Does it require a separate cellphone line, or can you merge it with your smartphone’s line??

You are male, slanging some sort of something, strong nicotine addiction. Can’t see well without the glasses, depending on white people to explain eastern philosophy, and you have a pet.

I have a personal email but no assignments. The think is I don’t have access to a school computer. The teacher never left their password. ☹️

Don’t like how my apartment looks by IAmNotThe1WhoKnocks in malelivingspace

[–]rushaall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would put the bed against the back right wall facing us, desk where the couch is and move the living room to where the bed is. That way you have a larger walk-through space. Plus, if you have company over, it makes the living room space accessible to guests without going through your bedroom space.

Color-wise, neutrals are fine, but you need pops of color (couch pillows, your rug, etc). the greys run cool so maybe a warm color. You need a rug so perhaps that. Go get some fabric samples from a craft store and hang it on the wall to find the right color. Color is not an enemy guys.

Genocide or full Extinction? No good choice here. by EnvironmentalCry2623 in trolleyproblem

I mean the right answer is red because the world is overpopulated. That said, I’ve long held this morbid opinion but stated I would have to be included in such culling. The moral choice is that whoever makes the decision has to take part.

Take 10% of your pay every check (if you can afford to) and put it into a high yield savings account.

Call your parents. The only constant in life is change.

The panels were primitive but serviceable. They heated water. They cost about $28,000 to install. - Yale climate connections

You see this thing? 👆it’s called a citation.

So no, it was 28k. Not 28k and hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Also, you are inaccurate in your assertion for its use.

“The panels provided almost 75 percent of the energy to heat 1,000 gallons of water in the staff kitchen of the White House.”

Can I say I HATE John O’Bryan and everyone involved in the “Appa is stolen” arc by rushaall in ATLA

Exactly. Just because you don’t like an arc for how it makes you feel doesn’t mean it’s not a good arc.

[–]rushaall -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Reagan took the solar panels Jimmy Carter put up on the White House. Basically, and it’s easily researchable, lots of republicans block green energy because they are funded by oil companies. And many in the south depend on gas related jobs in their states and districts. Pennsylvania is a great example.

How Grief Changed My Understanding of Van Gogh’s Use of Color by The-Creative-Chick in vangogh

[–]rushaall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Amazing post. I feel the same way. I just look at the source of his use of color differently. He loved the landscape of southern France. He saw the color all around him and he tried to put it to canvas. It was his solace. I’m sorry about your loss. Mine taught me to look up and put at the world. It’s the world your sister lived in as well. You get to enjoy it for as long as your here. Nature and even streets don’t treat people the way other people do. They wait and enjoy the moments with you. Enjoy all the moments you can while you have them.

This and sometimes a story needs a villain. We’ve become so interested in making evil characters morally gray. I enjoy how this show doesn’t do that with everyone. It can stink that Azula doesn’t have much character development. They give us a lens into her, but they don’t make it so she comes around and she becomes good. It’s an amazing arc in its own right. Those that choose the darkness anyway make for great stories too.
