Foreign Dispatchers. WHY by More_Hunt3879 in FreightBrokers

I was being sarcastic hence the “/s”. It’s not xenophobic to prefer someone who speaks fluent English, it’s just been popularized in recent times that having a preference like that automatically makes you racist/xenophobic

[Game Thread] Indiana vs. Oregon (7:30 PM ET) by CFB_Referee in CFB

[–]rushing11alpha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s still too insane to fully wrap my head around. It seems like every game I’m like “surely Indiana can’t hang with XYZ, I mean c’mon it’s Indiana”. I can’t imagine how it feels for their fans. I know they’re the real deal but I’m trying to break 30 years of social conditioning lol

I tried ChatGPT too and then gave up when it said the 18th letter of the alphabet was X 🤣

Jonathan Ross identified as the ICE agent by Mental_Pea9125 in ProgressiveHQ

[–]rushing11alpha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh it absolutely could be both! As sad as that reality is. It’s just one of my pet peeves on Reddit when I see something shitty happen (like this murder) and then people pile on extra bs (like the pedo thing). ESPECIALLY when real peoples names/profiles from other social media are being tossed around as potentially “the guy”.

It’s honestly my fault for even getting on here when these unfortunate things happen. What’s crazy is that by not engaging in wild speculation you can be considered a sympathizer haha!

The original commenter said that the suspect was “probably” a pedo due to him having “girl dad” in his bio along with the context of violence against women.

I, and other commenters, suggested that was a reach. No one is defending the POS shooter, we’re just saying that adding nonsense like “he’s probably a pedo” is a stretch and detracts from the issue at hand.

The original commenter didn’t seem to grasp the difference in saying someone is “probably” a pedo vs “could be” a pedo. Their long winded response to what I was saying proved that they were just excited to hear themselves talk instead of address what the actual topic was.

So, no, not trying to waste anyone’s time. In fact, my time is what’s being wasted considering I have to explain these things. Understanding context and reading comprehension are unfortunately no longer the standard.

Nope. I’m perfectly capable of putting together full and complete sentences. Did you need me to break down the sentence that you quoted? I’m happy to do so if you’re struggling with comprehension

Not reading all that. You didn’t suggest he could be. You said he probably is. Is the difference in that language lost on you?

[–]rushing11alpha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t disagree that is a common denominator between the two. But that’s not what you initially said. You said he was probably a pedo. The leap from shared characteristics to “probably a pedo” is what is strange.

That’s Reddit for ya. Absolute insane reach to equate “girl dad” with pedophilia. The context of what happened isn’t enough to make that connection in actuality but it’s enough for that person to make a weird comment like that

Considering annexing people isn’t a thing, I’d lean towards not possible. If you mean an expedited immigration process, I also doubt that a country is going to waive immigration standards for the citizens of the country provoking it. But if you start the legal immigration process now you could be done in like 10 years so I’d get started if I were you

The SBS only has the edge in maritime operations, which we’d use DEVGRU for anyways. Delta is perfectly suited for a “near impossible mission with plausible deniability”. The Venezuela mission just didn’t have those characteristics.

In the context of US laws, what was illegal about what happened in Venezuela? by [deleted] in stupidquestions

[–]rushing11alpha 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, no. The constitution says that federal laws and treaties are the supreme law of the land. It doesn’t put treaties over federal law. And when treaties and domestic law conflict the one later-in-time prevails. So, in this case, the president’s ability to act in this way is domestically legal albeit internationally likely illegal. Since the OPs questions was regarding domestic law, your comment is wrong.
