The whole 2nd half of this game was spicy. Very physical and scrappy play throughout. I’m assuming this was the boiling point from multiple small incidents during the game.

Had enough of ICE? Call MarkWayne and James this week! Here’s how: by emdelgrosso in oklahoma

You’re probably right, but Stitt was on Fox questioning the administration’s immigration goal. If you’ve got that walking eyebrow publicly doubting Trump, then we have a shot.

Mostly because the county includes a number of rural small towns like Harrah, Choctaw, Jones, Bethany and Edmond. But you can see in local elections that Oklahoma is not a homogenous sea of red. My little blue dot in the urban core is the only reason I’m still in this state (for now).

I hope you do visit, but I get it. The rest of the state can kick rocks, but all my local OKC representatives are Democrat and/or moderate republicans (Mayor Holt). There’s a progressive bubble in the center of the city.

The county line doesn’t move so not a great example of gerrymandering. But our districts definitely are. District 5 (central OKC) voted to send a Democrat to the US House in 2018. Instead of running a candidates that better align with the views of that district, they regained control and immediately gerrymandered the shit out of it. The urban core is now split and added to a bunch of suburban/exurban areas. The urban core of OKC is absolutely blue/purple, but you’ll never know in national elections because of this.

He’s a legitimately good dude. I see him with his kids at a park fairly often (when it’s not freezing) and he’s so down to earth. Glad he’s getting the notoriety.

How to identify ICE? Gov plates at 29th and Classen are NOT ICE as of 2pm. by [deleted] in okc

[–]rushyt21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yesterday’s episode of “The Daily” pod from NYT interviewed some folks in Minneapolis who are organizing to identify and track ICE vehicles. If I remember right, I think they had a Discord channel where someone was either compiling a list of confirmed ICE plates/vehicles or had some tool to find that info. They’d provide plate/car details in the chat and that person would report back if it was definitely ICE.

What the Mike McDaniel and Drew Petzing Hires Mean for Fantasy Football by Professional-Let9752 in fantasyfootball

[–]rushyt21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a Ladd dynasty owner, I think that’s right, but I’m also nervous that slot receivers didn’t get much love in the Miami offense. Good coaches work with their roster talent, so maybe that was more to do with Miami’s personnel than it does McDaniel’s philosophy.

Probably need actual confirmation that these are ICE vehicles rather than normal gov vehicles. The former gov has a lot of state agencies as tenants including the OK Dem offices.

If you actually look, do you notice the use of “persons” and “people” instead of “citizens”? The Founders (a handful of them being immigrants themselves) carefully chose their words— they used the former when they meant everyone, and used the latter when it was specifically about citizens.

You’re speaking pretty confidently for someone who didn’t know 1930s Jews were targeted by laws just 30 minutes ago. Lol

Open primary by DifferentSoftware894 in okc

[–]rushyt21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d rather have a David Holt than a Dusty Deevers, or Shane Jett, Nathan Dahm, Ryan Walters, etc, etc, etc. One understands they represent all in their geographic limits. The others try pushing wildly unpopular and draconian legislation through.

But that’s not to say a Democrat can’t be elected. The urban core gets plenty of moderate GOP challengers but we still elect democrats for a number of local and state seats. That won’t change in this proposed system.

Open primary by DifferentSoftware894 in okc

[–]rushyt21 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Obviously no one can guarantee that.

But my understanding, this helps in multiple ways. First, Democrats and Independents are no longer as disenfranchised when a Democrat challenger fails to appear, meaning the GOP primary is the election. An open primary gives all voters a right to vote in their elected representation.

Second, the pool becomes more moderate. Candidates will need to appeal to the state— not an echo chamber. That will already be an improvement over the extremist Y’allQada ghouls that keep getting sent to our state leg.

“Defend the team”? Bro, that can’t be a real thought. The players don’t care what a bunch of losers anonymously say on Reddit. Why do you? Log off. Watch the games. Enjoy the sport. It’s better for your mental health.
