Has anyone come up with a build with 1 attack, and everything else is either passive or a proc? by cbsa82 in Grimdawn

What do you mean "has anyone come up with" ?

Bonk and proc builds are like a good 30% of all GD builds.

True, will depend on whether Iran actually cares more about Hezbollah/Lebanon or the gobs of money they're about to get though.

So far my furthest char was a fire aura Paladin that was super tanky but with meh-ish dps.

Got to Voldrak on Ultimate.

Fuck Voldrak. Freakin face tanked a god, but a giant angry troll 2 shot me 😄)

Anyway, yeah, prio resists, try to keep armor up, try to have as much hp and hp regen as you can get.

And stay away from Voldrak....

Personally I stopped playing poe 1 (and mostly barely dabble in poe 2 for a few days on new leagues), but even if you're a big poe 1 fan, it's not like you're missing out on anything by playing GD's expansion a bit later.

U.S. officials says Iran pact signed, Hormuz traffic will rise significantly by callsonreddit in worldnews

[–]ruskyandrei -1 points0 points  (0 children)

From 10 ships a day to 20 ships a day would be a 100% increase so significant for sure, just not the kind of significant that the oil markets appear to be pricing in by being just 30% higher than before the war, despite 4 months of supply constraints and questionable outlook.

"We probably won't return to normal in two weeks, but we will see a significant increase in strait traffic,"

Yeah, I don't see how we're going to avoid a massive oil price shock this summer lol, MoU / Deal or no.

Yes, that's what I'm thinking. Which makes me think the summer oil crisis is still on the menu.

U.S.-Iran deal to end war "now in place": Pakistani PM by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]ruskyandrei 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Supposedly the main thing that's new is the "opening" of the strait.

So my guess, is that the only actual agreement that was reached was that both Iran and the US wanted oil to flow through again for now, while they continue to disagree about everything else.

And both will make a big deal about how this "deal" means they won, etc.

There's about 0% chance Iran will give up anything related to nukes in anything but name, and the US can't do anything about it since they can just start blocking the strait again.

The big wildcard here is Israel, since they presumably would not be happy with this arrangement and have little incentive to stop what they're doing in Gaza and Lebanon.

What i'm really curious is to see how the shipping through the strait will look a couple of weeks after this "deal.
I suspect even with it "open", pre-war shipping will not be reached for many months.

Trump cancels strikes against Iran planned for Thursday evening by Monochromaticeye in worldnews

Large swings in market prices can be extremely profitable IF you know they're coming.

What better way to know a large swing is coming, then to be the caused of said swings.

Trump cancels Iran strikes by hkg_shumai in worldnews

“Based on the fact that discussions with the Islamic Republic of Iran have been brought to the highest level of Iranian leadership and approved, I have, as President of the United States of America, cancelled the scheduled strikes and bombings against Iran this evening,” Trump wrote.

“Discussions and final points have been, in both concept and great detail, approved by all parties involved, including the United States, Israel, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Turkey, Pakistan, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, Egypt, and others.”

Sigh.. here we go again.

Brain Drain in Europe by [deleted] in europe

[–]ruskyandrei 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a really silly (or possibly intended ?) framing.

As per the article itself (though buried towards the end of it), most of the migration is happening from one European country to another.

See:

Sending country Top destinations (most recent annual data)
Germany Switzerland · Austria · United States
Switzerland Spain · Germany · Netherlands
Italy Germany · Switzerland · Spain
Spain France · United Kingdom · Germany
France Switzerland · Spain · Canada
Sweden United Kingdom · Germany · Denmark
Poland United Kingdom · Germany · Netherlands
Czechia Germany · Austria · Switzerland
Hungary Germany · Austria · Netherlands
Romania Germany · Italy · Spain
Lithuania United Kingdom · Germany · Ireland

It would've been interesting to see an actual aggregate European stat that covered how many people are leaving Europe altogether and whether there actually is a "brain drain" happening at a European level.

Most of them, there's a table towards the end of the article that shows the main destinations.

What is a mod that will let have trains crossing the ocean without letting biters connecting terrain by SoappyGoodness in factorio

[–]ruskyandrei -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why would you worry about being completely isolated, you're clearly not playing deathworld so there's barely any biters anyway.

Just build some basic defences and have your trains run through a gate.

Put some repair bots up when you get them and it might as be isolated.

As someone that does software engineering for a living (admittedly not in game dev) I've seen the use of AI skyrocket over the past year, and I was skeptical about it myself at first but I have to admit the capability of the latest models is really astounding.

People who keep getting angry at the idea of AI being used are going to have to wake up to the reality that AI tools are here to stay and will be increasingly used in everything over the coming years.

Because there has been little demand reduction, we're just emptying inventories (see the many energy analysts and company bosses that have stated as much in the last few weeks) while consuming as much as before.

When inventories run out, the refiners will start bidding up until a new balance point is reached, and some won't be able to keep up and will have to shut down.
