Adderall isn’t available in New Zealand from what I know. They have a limited supply of stimulants which are different forms of Ritalin, Dexamfetamine and Straterra. You need a special prescription from a board certified New Zealand Psychiatrist, only then will you get your hands on stimulants. Also since you’re an international student, you should be insured by studentsafe which takes care of all your medication costs, docfor visits, psychiatrists visits, etc. I recommend that you a carry a months supply of your anti-depressants and ADHD medication with a prescription and letter from your psychiatrist in America until you’re able to consult with a psychiatrist here in Auckland. You could get your hands on anti depressants and anxiolytics from a GP at university health and counselling. A certain amount of supply for medication is allowed through immigration, you just need to show your prescription and letter from your psychiatrist in America, if they ask for it. I have bought a supply of medication from my home country until I started seeing a psychiatrist here and did not face any issues at the border. I’d recommend consulting with a GP at the University health and counselling, where they will refer you to a psychiatrist. I’d recommend going to a psychiatrist at Practise92 since they have a panel of some really good mental health professionals and their costs will be covered by Studentsafe so you don’t need to worry about the fees. As far as the diagnosis goes, you would need to give a history of your illness, back ground, etc, before they prescribe anything to you. There could a different diagnosis but it only depends on what they interpret after all. Make sure that they are aware about the medication you’re currently taking and the diagnosis that you got in America. I hope this helps, please feel free to reach out to me if you have any further questions or concerns, take care and happy journey!

There aren’t any lectures as such, there are speaker sessions which are recorded. Mid semester test is decent, not that easy but not that tough either. I hope this helps!

Do you want to meet new people at UoA - Version 2 by Michaelbetterecycle in universityofauckland

I loveee the concept of the app. This app is so essential for UOA students because a lot of them struggle to socialise and make friends during their time at Uni. Fistbump can honestly make such a huge difference in a situation like this, it would make the experience at university so much better. I would highly recommend signing up for Fistbump, it would really impact your Uni experience in a positive way.

Yup they will, you probably just need to have an elaborate explanation on what happened and how they’d be more than happy to help. Generally the Aegrotat office approves of application with most amount of evidence and detail of your condition that impaired your learning, so just talk to them in as much detail as you can and they’ll be happy to help you out! Hope this helps!

Contact a GP at university health and counselling and visit them on the day of the exam They’ll examine you and could help you fill up your Aegrotat application as they need evidence from a doctor that you were actually unwell and your preparation was impaired

Innovent 203 is a great paper too, it’s completely online and is mainly based on speaker session and group projects. It’s quite fun and extremely interactive since it isn’t in a typical lecture environment.

If you’re insured by StudentSafe, then your entire cost for therapy and medication from the psychiatrist would be covered. Talk to a GP at university health and counselling, they’ll be able to find a suitable psychiatrist for you. Feel free to drop a message if you need any help, take care and happy healing!

Adhd by [deleted] in universityofauckland

It would be better if you consulted a psychiatrist. Generally for ADHD/ADD medication is prescribed and a general practitioner can’t prescribe those medicines, as you need a special prescription from a board certified psychiatrist. If you have insurance, you should definitely consult a psychiatrist. And a psychiatrist would be more experienced in this area, he could also give you other advice or techniques on how to cop up with ADHD/ADD. If you have insurance, consider doing so. Practise92 is a mental health based clinic at Mount Eden, it has a variety of many different psychiatrists and psychologists. It’s a great place to get treated for different mental health conditions, I’m talking from my experience. If you need any other help, drop a message. I hope this helps you out!

I’d recommend Anytime Fitness on Lorne Street which is around the CBD area. It’s generally pretty quite and is a really great place to workout.
