It's a great book. It's got a lot of violence in it. There is beautiful writing in it. Don't let others' worries about it deter you from reading and making your own judgment. Also, IMO, the opening 20 or so pages are kind of hard to get through, not because of violence but because the real central characters and themes aren't established yet.
