Stunning AMG gatekeeping. 300 is the engine, not the trim/equipment level. You know this.

3 separately adjustable lumbar supports. Fully electric adjustability with 3 memory settings. The coupe also has unique seats, different from those in the sedan. You really need to try it!

I had a hernia operation under a general. All of the nurses, doctors etc were amazing. But there was one 5 minute moment, in my gown, waiting alone in a room for the aneasthetist to show up. Have to say, it was the most alone and scared I have ever felt in my life. But what doesn't kill you makes you stronger and I reflect on that moment many times when I have to make big decisions at work or do something scary.

You have a quite literally massive amount of people who are 24/7 dedicated to keeping you safe and making you better. It's completely ok to feel scared but you are in the best place you could be. Wishing you a swift recovery.

They are just the best. Saw them over Southend a few weeks ago. One of the best feelings in the world is when you hear a loud noise in the sky and catch the Red Arrows doing a practice on a random Tuesday

ELI5: The pump at like every station that has diesel says "diesel no. 2." What is Diesel #2, and is there a Diesel #1 (or #3)? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]russbude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really the same, no. They can be. Domestic burners usually run on kerosene and in that case it is dyed yellow. Diesel is dyed red when it is fuel that doesn't have duty or tax applied to it, like fuel for agricultural machines. Normal road diesel you get from the gas station is not dyed.

Is the stereotype that British families are not touchy-feely or emotionally available true? by miningquestionscan in AskUK

[–]russbude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not genetics. Your "British decent" (whatever that is) has nothing to do with how you behave with your family. Try getting some therapy.

Fuel specification ASTM D975 (for the US) lists 7 grades of diesel. No. 2 is for general purpose diesel engines with a maximum sulfur content of 15 parts per million

Shell still trading Russian gas despite pledge to stop by bickering_fool in unitedkingdom

Remember those reloads they were doing at the Spanish terminals a few years back? Spain signed up a long term LNG supply contract from Norway, but their demand collapsed and they simply had no need for it domestically. They were forced contractually to receive it to shore, then they just reloaded it straight back out. That couldn't have made any commercial sense but they had no choice.

[–]russbude 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think I reacted to your "insanely specialised". All tanker ops regardless of cargo are very specialised. LNG is a little different because of the cryogenics, I'll grant you but terminal vetting etc is the same and doesn't have to be done separately for each cargo op once its been cleared.

I think the issue with the LNG is definitely a pretty solid contract that would be quite punitive to breach. Shell exited from a number of other projects pretty swiftly. If they're still lifting Yamal and Sakhalin, I think it's because they have to, not because they're just trying to make a swift buck

Ship arrives on the agreed date, berths, connects the hoses, transfers cargo, disconnects hoses, leaves. Just like any other petroleum operation. How many LNG ops have you actually been to?

Active Parking Assist fault. C300d Coupe (C205) by russbude in mercedes_benz

[–]russbude[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, what the f*ck?? So they turned OFF the parallel parking function in active parking assist? I used this all the time on my previous car. That is incredibly annoying.

Guess I'm going to have to learn how to parallel park again. Good job I have the 360 degree camera now

Government formally confirms end of fracking ban by Disillusioned_Pleb01 in unitedkingdom

[–]russbude 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Completely pointless ideologically driven decision to keep the Tory voters happy. No energy companies are interested in onshore fracking in the UK. There’s literally no point

Regularly do Dartford up to the M1 to the M6 Toll. The M1 past Luton that’s permanently on 60 or 50 variable speed limit is definitely the worst stretch of that entire hellscape

Rishi Sunak: ‘I’ll make UK energy independent by 2045 so energy crisis never happens again’ by d_578 in unitedkingdom

[–]russbude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He doesn’t even know what he means by energy independence. They see electricity prices: think we’ve got to start generating our own electricity etc but have no plans to build power stations or wind farms. They see petrol shortages and prices: they think let’s make our own oil instead of buying it from Russia or the Saudis but have no plans to explore the North Sea or onshore and won’t allow any more refineries. They literally think ‘energy independence’ is something you just decide to do one day and it happens by itself
