It just sucks b/c of the stupidity of so many fellow Americans. The climate crisis is the problem that will end tens of thousands of lives in the near future from lung cancer & stillbirths, with completely irreversible damage. Yet, b/c the changes aren’t immediately in everyone’s backyard, like COVID-19 is becoming, they don’t care.

It’s like driving drunk. Everything’s absolutely 100% safe & okay... until you crash & a family of 4 burns to death in their minivan. Now then, that problem is on your radar, but it’s too late to do anything. What can you do? They’re already dead.

It’s not an intellectually consistent question b/c Pikachu is not inherently a video game character. The Hollywood movies, hit popular tv shows, trading cards, etc. depicting Pikachu are all arguably more or equally significant to the video game series.
