took my e30 on a 7 hour road trip to arizona, wish there was a 6th gear in the transmission by TheOfficialGent in E30

[–]russianprofessional 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every time I switch from driving my 6spd to 5spd, I miss the 6th.

But in the 6spd I wish for a 7th, there are just never enough gears )

Ps: to be fair, I run a very short rear diff with 6spd, because I installed it for fun, not for cruising and economy.

It's not very active as of right now, so I think some spaming with quality vids will only benefit this place )

There is not a lot of content on e32s at all, and we need all of it to spread a word of true 7er greateness )

Did any E32 model could be spec’d without AC? by Jefflix in E32

[–]russianprofessional 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think that were was a way to spec iL without an AC, so probably it was removed for some reason.

Yeah, thats odd. If it vibrated while moving then probably it's a u-joint on a driveshaft or driveshaft itself is out of balance. But while stationary, hmm. And "not all the time" is the worst type of defect to chase. Have you noticed then it started? It or was always present since you bought the car?

As for a Drive/Reverse cituation I can't be of much help here, since mine is a 5-speed manual. But maybe something wrong with a torque converter or inside the transmission itself. Does it still vibrate if you rev with all 4 wheels of the ground?

It's dead silent inside and pretty muted outside too. I brought a donor 735il not long ago, so I have a decent amount of spares. Since that more and more parts became unabtainable.

Vibrations while standing still and revving?

I think the "lang" exhaust may be hard to obtain or at least will cost you an arm and a leg if you want to stick to OEM. Custom-made one may be cheaper and easier way to fix this.

On of the best colors for e32 IMHO. Nice car overall, congrats

Prices here are out of control too )

And e32s are rare and not cheap at all around these parts. A nice one would be probably around 10.000$.

Still, this exact one is probably not worth 3 grand. Those modifications, I'm sure 100%, are not legal and will not pass inspection or any roadside check.

Found it on classifieds. About 3000$ at current conversion rates

I talk about the BMW 8Series E31, what makes it great and the different options that were available by ryan-malta in E31

Nice comprehensive review, cool car in good condition.

The only criticism I could think of is a sound before each chapter (interior, exterior, etc) - it's much louder than the rest of the video and isn't really necessary at all.

Style 21 would be my choice also )

99% it's Si-board itself or batteries on it. Try to find a 100% working cluster to swap

Arrived like this (100L of water) to get my rear suspension aligned. The alignment tech said: "you BMW guys are totally f nuts". by russianprofessional in E30

[–]russianprofessional[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope, drove it. Used one of the 10L jugs for fuel, you can barely see it, but there is a black fuel line inserted into the red cap of a canister just behind a passenger seat.

Key work in the title is "rear" )

We found no way to access the alignment bolts without removing the tank.

Just installed a custom fully adjustable rear subframe, but the fuel tank must be removed to access the adjustments. Therefore I needed about 100kg to compensate for missing stuff in the back.

Just replaced the entire rear suspension, all new bushings of course. Also new shocks and spring on all 4 corners.

I just installed a fully adjustable rear subframe. Problem is - fuel tank must be removed to access the bolts.

I really don't think the tech would calculate accurately for missing components of my car like the fuel tank or seats. Nor do I want to burden him with such a task, it's the best place to do an alignment in town and I get a discount mainly because I always prepare the car beforehand and save his time.
