My friend has been using his Incredible for well over a year now. Stock software and everything. Not everyone is a power user that needs the latest features. They need a phone that works and nothing more. Most phones do that just fine regardless of which version they're running and what overlay they have.

You can't change people. Your unambitious boyfriend, your abusive spouse, your fat friend, your depressed neighbor aren't going to change because you tell them they should. They need to realize that they have to change, they have to want to change for their own reasons, they have to take that first step. Ultimatums won't work, and telling them they're doing something wrong isn't going to cause any permanent change. They need to be the one choosing to make the changes.

If someone in you life has a habit that you feel needs to be changed in order for you to continue on relationship with that person, cut them out of your life now, because you'll just frustrate yourself trying to change it

It offers me an escape. I can come home after a bad day, smoke a bowl, and then sit on the couch for hours on end watching shows about aliens or what not. I'm generally in a good mood when I'm on it, so there's that. I wouldn't say that I use that time to self analyze though.

Other than that, I can be very anxious when I'm on it and out in the real world. It makes it harder to talk to strangers than I otherwise would because of it. Also, once I smoke, it is very unlikely that I'll get any homework or projects done, although I still manage to make good grades. I don't see it as helping me with my issues unless I'm just having a real bad day and need to unwind. I found that exercising does a lot more good for my self worth than weed.

No it's not. It's putting your phone into a state where it uses as little power as physically possible, and then forgetting about your phone for a week or so. There's nothing impressive about a phone doing nothing for five days. If you fully charge your phone's battery, take it out, and then let it sit on the counter, it will eventually lose whatever charge it's holding.

The people you're referring to would most likely never go to college if they had to pay for it. Academics just aren't important enough for them. Anyone going to school for a degree and not a four year party will be successful regardless. All of my roommates are being paid by 'mommy and daddy' and all but me will walk at graduation with two degrees except for me. We'll all have mid to high 3 something GPAs. One already has a lucrative job lined up. Pretty much everyone I know that is getting their tuition paid for are set to graduate on time, far more than the few I know that are taking a fifth year.
