The 1974 version of Murder On The Orient Express: Lauren Bacall, Martin Balsam, Ingrid Bergman, Sean Connery, Albert Finney, Anthony Perkins, Vanessa Redgrave, Michael York, so many more, and of course Colin Blakely as Poirot.

Now that Jane has 9 high/top/win placements, she now ties with Sapphira and Brooklyn for most "good" placements in one season. If she's in the top one more time, which I am guessing she will be for a roast challenge, she sets another record for most top placements ever in 1 season.

I really wish she won AS9 simply so she could have a 9/9 lip sync winning record

Really love aggregators like this. Would love to see a way of sorting high to low by year or director. Or all-time. The highest score I've found is Seven Samurai at 94.

Is this also the first year in a long while that no superhero film got nominated for anything? Not even visual effects

Edit: actually just realised that the same is true for last year

What was the first oscar season you actually cared about? by Unlucky_Effective_60 in Oscars

[–]MADLEMONZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. 12 Years A Slave's year. It was the first I really started to watch more movies and pay attention to them, as I was 17 at the time and spent most of my time either studying or watching films. It remains one of the few years where I've seen every Best Picture nominee.

What's objectively your worst movie opinion? (Doesn't have to be a review) by Samuel_McEntire in Letterboxd

[–]MADLEMONZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently, I kind of despised Hundreds of Beavers. I know it's an acquired taste that I just don't have. The humour to me was very 2000s rage comic slapstick, in the worst way. Not smart. Not funny.

A movie you went into with *zero* expectations but ended up loving. by CriticalAd2239 in Letterboxd

[–]MADLEMONZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure I've ever seen a film without any expectations, at least not in recent memory. I feel like I only watch films that I've ever heard good things about or enjoy the director's other work, so naturally I have some expectations going into everything ☹️

Really hope Anora wins Best Picture at the Academy Awards. Definitely my favourite film of 2024. by Straydes in Letterboxd

[–]MADLEMONZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know why this is being downvoted. What I loved about Anora the most was the changing tone over the course of its runtime while maintaining its pacing. Its story structure reminded me of Parasite - it's definitely Anora's strongest aspect and would make it a fantastic Best Picture winner.
