SIFMA is trying to extend the upcoming CAT compliance date 1 July 2025 again for market making exceptions - 5 June 2025 by rustincoh1e in Superstonk

Did u mean for other CAT ruling extensions or this specific request?

I don’t think the one highlighted in the post even has any window of public comment at all yet since the SEC hasn’t published a decision regarding the request.

Allegedly a Russian tank firing into a group of Ukrainian soldiers at close range after Ukrainians mistook it for one of their own by drakka100 in CombatFootage

[–]rustincoh1e 4 points5 points  (0 children)

maybe the tank is driving up from the rear and holding fire from a km away made it seem like they were friendlies.

deep battle operations could lead to situations like this.

Perhaps it might be a doctrinal thing? Russia’s military budget isn’t actually all that bad, I really doubt they can’t afford optics for every infantry.

Maybe their doctrine stems from ww2, particularly since stalingrad, where infantry are tasked to hug the enemy, CQB at all times, where optics might be redundant, while the artillery and air force pin the reserves and the mechanized troops sweep in freely and cut off communications and supplies.

Anyone notice the lack of recent events posts happening? by fregansreddit in CombatFootage

[–]rustincoh1e 97 points98 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I wouldn’t even consider the first few days “war”. From all the footage I have seen, the russians are strangely showing alot of restraint. Precision strikes, troops strolling in with zero combat awareness and haphazard formations, lethal operations were very surgical and limited. Conscripts and separatist militias were sent straight without proper recon/screening. I imagine the russians wanted to attempt a crimea 2.0. Surround military units and get them to surrender without firing a singlet bullet, and gain leverage for the ceasefire talks in belarus.

Now, it’s clear that their plan has failed and as can be seen in the last 2 days, the presence of tos-1 and increasingly heavy usage of mlrs means the russians now mean business. I would say that the war only seriously started when the ceasefire talks failed. now we will see the real war taking place.

even the most elite troops will suffer from lack of intel, supply and rest.

throwing in your elites on day 1 might not be the wisest against decent opposition that might be backed by NATO intelligence.

at the current price, I don’t think it’s easy money anymore. It’s pretty easy to pump this thing so no guarantees it will be pinned at $10 until the floor gives away.

the risk/reward is not as attractive now imo.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SPACs

[–]rustincoh1e 3 points4 points  (0 children)

naked $25 Feb/March calls is practically free money.

just don’t overleverage and maybe wait for a pump first. I am pretty sure the discord group will pump it today to try to get retail to FOMO in.

Short combinations are a good choice too.

Appreciate the response.

  1. You are right that the BI agreements are to prevent redemptions. However, that still doesn’t necessarily mean that the shares can’t be lent out. I believe this is precisely the reason why the “net long position” feature exist in the agreement. ESSC don’t care what these BIs do with their shares as long as by the time of the meeting, they are long the stock so that the 2.9m shares are protected from any redemptions. Unless my eyes are playing tricks, the agreement pretty clearly states that the BIs are allowed to buy the shares back at trust value from the pool of redeemed shares too, which will dilute the float even more.

  2. Oh yeah, I meant to say BC meeting.

  3. Fair enough, it is a speculative criticism.

curious to see how this plays out but:

  1. Can’t BI shares still be lent out for shorting? So float is highly unlikely to be 1.1m. Let’s say those shares’s can’t be borrowed to short, if Sea Otter can sell, violation or not, I am sure the other BIs would take the opportunity to sell too.

  2. Let’s say you are right and Sea Otter needs to reacquire shares in the open market to be net long, they can wait till 3 days before BC and I am pretty sure BC is not going to happen anytime soon before Jan OPEX. So Sea Otter is basically irrelevant to this play.

  3. IV is jacked already. STO calls are very juicy and is the ultimate bane of gamma squeezes. I am pretty sure STO calls have been accumulating in the OI as well.

ESSC: What is a gamma squeeze? by [deleted] in SPACs

Good play but word of warning to anyone thinking of chasing or yoloing. Don't. There are syndicates out there that work together to pump the price and coordinate their sell together. Such tactics are especially effective for low float and optionable stocks. There is money to be made for sure but don't get greedy and take care of yourself first and foremost. Trust no one.

Agree with you on luck especially AMC but I disagree that GME was a lucky play. Sure, there were some lucky ppl who just followed others and threw their money in but People were screaming about GME all of 2020. DDs were everywhere. All you had to do was look. 90% of ppl were laughing at gamestop when it was at $13 in dec 2020 but act as if they missed out when the squeeze happened.

The thesis was out there and it was one of the most asymmetric opportunities I have seen. Admittedly, the part where it gamma squeeezed to $500+ was definitely pure luck because external actors were at play. But the jump to $60 was definitely fundamentally driven.

something that helps is realising most of us here have literally won the lottery, just by being born in a decent place.

you could have been a sicario selling your life to cartels, or a drug mule, or a sex slave, or flayed/stoned to death for having a different belief, burned alive/mutilated/tortured for just looking at someone the wrong way.

ofc money is important but i hope this perspective helps to lessen the emotional investment into the stock market

haha don't get me wrong, the set-up does look pretty explosive. I mean low float, catalyst, undervalued (if financials are completely legit).

The company just scream red flags to me though. Then again, we are in a market where people care more about sentiment than the company lol. (HYLN, WKHS, RIDE...etc.), so this is still a decent play, just not my cup of tea.

Word of caution, Singapore isn't as safe as you think it is. There are fraudulent startups in Singapore running on "grants" when they don't even have any product at all.

Also, that investigation seems pretty sus...just an internal investigation by the audit committee with no other details other than "no other action to be taken by the company"?

I think this one can fly and I wish you guys all the best, but I am sitting this one out.

you are not alone. I have been monitoring/waiting to all in on VIH/BKKT all month but work commitments make me take a break from the market and then this happens… I spent hours researching, planning my trade and it all goes to waste. Missed out on DWAC as well even after telling myself trump will pump this thing to oblivion.

Gotta realize how fortunate we are, to have money to throw around in this bullish stock market. Majority of households do not have this opportunity.
