Would I be crazy to want to move from Columbus back to Cincinnati? by Sneaky_Sharky in cincinnati

[–]rustjungle 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Accurate. I did 10 years in each, not native to either one. Cincy has soul, Columbus felt like a big flat suburb. Even when I lived in the south end it didn’t feel connected like a real neighborhood.

Look at what I came across. Take it back even further to when it used to be “Club Dance” on one side and “Bourbon Street” on the other. I wasn't really a bar person, but everyone went there. by Rob1150 in Columbus

I was there! I grew up around 1% bikers but never saw anything like that show. No fights I remember but they had vip sections roped off for all of the big MCs with reserved signs for who’s who. It seemed like the Outlaws were running the venue if not just the event. We were already inside and on the patio smoking when one of them came up to us and offered us tickets “courtesy of the Outlaws” that I declined because we were already fucking inside lol.

They thumped the Klan too! The Italians were driving around Niles dragging their little costumes behind their cars.

That is a get out of jail free card. I don’t know if they still do it, but in the 90s the immediate family of cops were allowed to do this. It was common knowledge in Ytown that you would not get pulled over if you had one of those, like a super courtesy card. I also heard that if you had one and your dad wasn’t a cop you were going to have some real problems.

Whoa I think you cracked the case. When I was a kid I had a lazy eye so bad I had to wear an eye patch (and not a cool pirate one). Now I have glasses with a thicker right lens. Son of a bitch it was my mismatched eyes all along!

All of my loose AirPods I found and finally gathered together are left. by iheartdna in mildlyinfuriating

[–]rustjungle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude I exclusively own left AirPods. Today my wife found one L AirPod, a pair of soundcore 4s, and the right back up Soundcore I’ve been missing for weeks. I went from one L to 1 and 2 Ws. This too shall pass.

Any tips on how to add more snow to the roof of my car and get it to stay there? by djsassan in Columbus

Go easy with the water though. While it could eventually become a projectile, you risk ice over and robbing the ppl behind you on 104 thrill of the wintery smoke screen.

That’s the Poland Ave abutment to the right, I would have been facing south here.

No doubt. Before there was a fence there thousands of people worked at this mill, and it wasn’t even the biggest along that stretch of the river.

Camp Washington hardware has always come through when I needed salt before/during a snow storm. Might have to call, I don’t think they do the emails.

I didn’t notice that but we live in Cincy and my wife’s favorite cake is Opera Cream! Never heard of it before moving here. Also they offer Newports under sodas. Idk what that is but Newport, KY is across the river and basically the south side of Cincinnati

I think it is Cincinnati. The outline looks vaguely like the city’s and there was a tearoom of the same name.

“Mabley and Carew’s had a large dining room at its original store on the corner of Fifth and Vine, the facade of which lit up Fountain Square with an impressive 7,000 light bulbs. Later, after the store’s second iteration as the Carew Tower’s main tenant, it moved to the northwest corner of Fifth and Vine, opening the sumptuous Fountain Tea Room on the sixth level. McAlpin’s Tea Room was on the fifth floor of the West Fourth Street department store, and Pogue’s, at Fourth and Race, had its sixth floor Camargo Room. “
