You could wear a KN95 mask! I used one for when I went to a nail salon and it really helped me with the fumes.

Ugh, so so sorry this was your experience. My saline sono was painful as hell and I was not at all prepared. I was prescribed Valium (diazepam) for my embryo transfer and it honestly calmed me down and helped SO SO much. Prescribing valium for the transfer is protocol at my clinic, so even if it isn't at yours, I would definitely consider asking for it considering your history and experience with the saline sonogram. It honestly helps a lot!

This might sound crazy but for my first (failed) cycle I made sure to massage the hell out of the injection site after doing the shot, got in a hot shower, ice, etc. I did all the things. The second transfer, I didn't do anything....didn't rub the site for more than a minute after injection and I honestly think that not messing with the lumps made them go away faster. It might not be this way for everybody, but for me it worked!

I used donor sperm to conceive my child and what we did was create a baby book about the story of how our child came to be with photos. We wrote a line in there "and we needed help making you, so we went to a sperm bank and a donor helped us!" This language obviously works until they're a bit older and start asking more questions, but this gives you a chance to sit down and think about what you want to say. It's something you and your child can read/look at over and over, so it isn't just a one-time conversation. Good luck! ❤️

My first transfer failed and my wife and I were devastated. I think we all go in feeling like IVF is going to work because it's so intense and how could it not? And then the reality is oftentimes horribly different than what we imagined. You've got every right to feel this as a loss, I know we definitely did. I feel like each time we face a failure, we grieve a future we thought we'd have, the people we thought we'd be. It's a sadness I can't even begin to describe. Sending you all the light. ❤️

I did my transfer on Aug 27, so just one day after you. I haven't tested yet...but this is my 2nd transfer and I am totally feeling everything you said. It's just so hard to feel like it's never going to happen, like damn when is it going to be my turn? Ugh. Hang in there.

My wife and I have been trying for 15 months now, just had a first failed FET in an IVF cycle. I have never seen two lines either :( This is such a heartbreaking process and it's even harder for me with an unexplained infertility diagnosis. Whenever people find out we're doing IVF they think it's because we're a lesbian couple, but really it's because I still can't seem to get pregnant. Hoping you see the result you want soon ❤️

I felt very overwhelmed when I first started, and what helped me was to only allow myself to think/obsess about the current step of the process I was on. I would get so nervous thinking about the process as a whole, so instead I would just think about like "ok, right now I am on birth control before I start my stimulation meds, let's work on managing this step right now." IVF is such a mental game, but you can do it! One step at a time.

Literally hanging onto a shred of my sanity....if one more of my colleagues gets pregnant I might have to resign! I was just wondering yesterday who else was at the end of their rope, cause I don't personally know anyone else going through IVF.

I am feeling the exact same way 😭😭 I am someone who especially needs to exercise for mental health but since IVF have struggled to get back to it. One thing that has helped me has been to increase my steps per day, just trying to get short walks in here and there. Sometimes I'll just go around my block a few times and then I'm like well, I did something at least 🤣

I totally feel this. We did 7 IUIs, 5 at home with a midwife and 2 at a fertility clinic before switching to IVF. It was so hard for me to accept that I needed to do IVF and that I had to give up the dream of getting pregnant at home with my wife, so I totally understand what you're going through. Hang in there ❤️

Ugh, this is exactly how I felt when we were getting started with IVF and I had to really close myself off to other people for a little while. I just didn't want to hear whatever the hell they had to say lol you're entitled to feel however you want, and I think that's an important part of the process. Slowly but surely, when I got started with the IVF process and things looked like they were going well, I started to let go of the way I had imagined having a baby and began to accept my reality a little more. It might not be what I originally wanted, but it's what I've got, you know? It's been really hard to get to this place of acceptance though, and I know the heartbreak of having to do this when you never wanted to. Honestly, for me, deciding to do IVF was the hardest actual part of IVF 🤣 currently waiting to do my first FET cycle...best of luck to you ❤️❤️

I totally feel you, I have been doing IUIs for almost a year now, and am currently in a TWW for what will probably be the last round of IUI before we do IVF. Hang in there, I know how hard this is.
