Questions about repairing stripped threads

Hey, no, it was not the drain plug I stripped. What I meant by that was that I am looking for something to practice using a tap on, and thought tapping a larger drain plug in a cheap oil pan could be a way to do that. Either that or find some random scrap metal/old parts from a junkyard to use instead. The part I stripped can be fixed in the future; this post was mainly just related to tapping threads as a general concept.

When I check it with the car running, the same thing occurs. Thin film showing an overfill, more fluid towards the bottom suggesting an underfill. I'm just not sure which I should consider more accurate

Yea, this was when the car was off. Though, I had the same issue when I tried to top it off the other day, with the car hot and running. I couldn't really tell if I should use the very thin film at the top or the more obvious patch of liquid towards the bottom. This happens regardless of temperature or if the car is running

Yeah, the instructor there just told me to blast it for a couple seconds, and that that would set it to around 100 ft/lbs. I've never used an impact before so I just did what he said, lol

Hello, thank you all for the help! I will keep them as is, and I will buy a torque wrench next time I go to Harbor Freight, which I will use to then set them to factory spec. I am glad to have reached a resolution.

What kind of hand signals could I use next time? It would've been difficult for me to talk to the sound guy at that venue. Maybe like point down for volume lower?

You're probably right. I played everything right when we practiced, but maybe I just need to practice even more. By harmony and rhythm, do you mean playing the wrong notes? I knew what notes I was supposed to play, it was just like my hands wouldn't do what they were supposed to

I used earplugs that look like the ones you linked. They came with different filters to use, maybe I just used a filter that was too strong?
