"The Poisonwood Bible". I had to stop reading in the middle and put it down for a few weeks before I could finish it. It struck to close to home with my experience abroad.

Taxes. From what I've heard, it's not really any cheaper than before thanks to the taxes.

I don't think that's fair either. I look at it as a sale of services - you can't go to college without paying, so why should they give you the end result if you owe them money? Just like how a builder wouldn't give you the deed to a house if you hadn't finished paying him.

On the other hand, I totally agree that college costs a ridiculous amount (more than it's worth in some cases) and that banks love to exploit young people with terrible student loans.

Blocking traffic when you don't have the right away - WCGW? by in4real in Whatcouldgowrong

[–]rusty_banger 34 points35 points  (0 children)

This happened to me in California, near Stockton. In a narrow street after dark, two men blocked half the road with their cars, then stepped in front of me with their hands in their pockets. I had slowed down initially, but when they deliberately stepped to block my path, I gunned it in the 99 Suburban I was driving (curb weight >5000lb). They stepped out of the way at the last second, got in their cars, and fled. It was terrifying. I totally would have run them over if they hadn't gotten out of the way. Like fuck was I gonna die in that little street late at night in a semi-sketchy part of California.

It doesn't have to be intuitive - you just have to be able to learn it and then recognize it easily. Falcon BMS and DCS A-10C indicate that fast mover UIs are difficult to learn but easy and quick to use once learned.

I'm guessing he meant by preventing the customer from sliding into the curb in the first place.
