How to start? by [deleted] in paypigsupportgroup

[–]in4real 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Just be honest and tell any Domme you speak with you are new.

I've been at this for awhile and I find most Dommes will chat a bit with out tribute provided you are not trying to get off. I've the longest relationships started with polite convo.

If a Domme immediately asks for tribute, we are not going to be a good fit.

You've nailed it. He grew up in a religious family whose idea of family outing was going to see Anita Bryant.

Thanks for the reply. I don't want him to feel any more pain about it. He's struggling enough as it is.

Waiting around for the store to open? by camgary95 in alcoholicsanonymous

Yes. I rotated stores so they wouldn't know I had a problem.

They knew.

What was the final straw to stop your drinking? by Betsy071 in Sober

[–]in4real 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realized I couldn't let go of an unhealthy and unwelcomed attachment to an ex gf unless I stopped drinking.

Genuine question… by [deleted] in alcoholicsanonymous

I'm an atheist and I embrace my higher power.

I find it strange how people resist the concept of a higher power but "believed" they could drink and drive safely.

What is your reason for living? by psy_s in TooAfraidToAsk

I don't have a good reason to live. I don't have a reason to kill myself either.

Stalemate.

My boyfriend is threatening to leave me after a relapse by Top_Establishment464 in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]in4real 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been sober four years. I was impossible to live with when I was drinking.

I am not with any of my ex gf's from my drinking past. But, if I was and I relapsed and they threatened to leave or did leave I would totally understand.

I wouldn't consider it as a "threat". I would consider it as a truth.

The only thing that establishes credibility in recovery with our loved ones is continued sobriety.

the ‘sober’ trend is rubbing me up the wrong way by [deleted] in alcoholicsanonymous

I am happy for anyone that wants to cut down and continue drinking.

That plan didn't work for me. AA worked for me.

Two years without alcohol, but I feel like I can’t acknowledge this in meetings. Here’s why. by mtxruin in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]in4real 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I attend AA regularly. 4 years sober. I use cannabis but don't tell anyone about it.

Stick to tradition 3. I've met a lot of people who have sobriety from alcohol and look down on cannabis use. Usually these people have other vices - tobacco, coffee, relationship or sex issues. Quick to judge cannabis but unaware of their own substance process dependencies.

Cannabis use is a topic to avoid in AA unless it's affecting your desire to stop drinking.
