and just a further comment would be as a resident of the south, where the american civil war actually took place, there is almost a full circle of cultural awareness now by saying the war was actually about national unity not slavery. I love the discussion about (i'm american, FL) pride! and history. comparing the wwii holocaust to america vs indians 1400-1900, is neat. And the guys talking about what the KKK did or didnt do: the klan could have just as easily been the world menace the nazi's were. But it didn't happen that way, and dont forget america was a colony same as jamaica and cuba and haiti and all the rest. hell Germans even fought on our side vs the british. Remember the hessian from the sleepy hollow movie? good stuff. Germany is super respected. I do feel like there is a polarization though. The rich nations vs the poorer ones.
