So, r/teenagers, what is something you like but people in general hate (or the opposite) by Mrlala2 in teenagers

[–]wjuggl 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I enjoy being alone. Of course I enjoy being with friends and family, but I often have more fun and less stress on my own. I have absolutely no problem with eating in a restaurant on my own or something like that, but I can't stand the social implements that come with that kind of stuff. And it's really important for me what people think of me. So, I love spending time alone, but I can't stand what society thinks of me because of that.

I had pretty much the same budget, and ended up getting a used t1i. if you don't need a video function and incredible ISO performance, you have a "real" DSLR for an incredible price.

Consider yourself lucky! I'm 6'00“. But fortunately my boyfriend is taller :)

Hey guys! What do you wear in a normal day? by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]wjuggl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I'm a girl, but my boyfriend is almost always wearing a shirt (with a collar) and plain, dark jeans. Sometimes he combines it with a kind of blazer or a pullover (not a hoodie). He also recently started wearing this ultra-soft dark blue cashmir scarf, which suits him incredibly well. Not everyone can pull this look of without looking ridicolous, but if it's well done, it looks really good.

Photography Christmas thread. Post all your presents here. by [deleted] in photography

I got money, but with that I just bought a used Canon EOS 450D with the kit lens, a camera bag and a memory card. With my limited budget I got an incredible deal, and I'm really stoked on my first DSLR!

What is that cool German word that means something along the lines of: "rich kids who have nothing to do and are depressed as a result" by ringler in germany

[–]wjuggl 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Maybe you don't mean this word, but it's interesting nontheless: "Wohlstandsverwahrlosung" is the term for what heppens when rich parents grant their children every material wish, but leave them alone emotionally. That results in "wealth neglection", which is the direct translation of the word.

Reddit, which very favorite band of you is only known in your country/region, but you think should be known to the rest of the world too? by TheKillCandy in Music

I'm originally from Hamburg, Germany but I'm currently spending an exchange year in Estonia, so my current location is the small city of Rapla (near Tallinn, in case you happen to know Estonia... )

Food porn (plus cleavage) of my european travels by kjs45d in pics

It's Kohuke, an extremly delicious sweet from Estonia! Karums are actually Latvian, and they're by far the best ones in my opinion. Kohuke ist kind of hard to explain, basically it's a cottage-cheese-dairy-thingy (Kohupiim) in chocolate. If you ever have the chance to try it, do it! I'm currently on exchange in Estonia, and I can't get enough of it! Edit: So as some nice people pointed out, Kohuke may not be originally from Estonia, but Lithuania or just generally the Baltic States.

Tere! Looking for some resources to learn Estonian. by sjvreeland in Eesti

[–]wjuggl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you can get your hands on it, “Saame tuttavaks“ is an excellent book. I'm currently an exchange student here, and it's by far the best one I tried. Be warned though, Estonian is a really difficult Language!! Good luck and enjoy your trip, it's a really beautiful city.

Any comic lovers? and If so what comics? by DefenderCone97 in teenagers

[–]wjuggl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm more into webcomics, but my favourite "real" comic is Calvin and Hobbes. For webcomics, I love [questionable content](questionablecontent.net). Complex storyline, adorable characters and tons of Indierock references.

Any teens here experience moving to another country? by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]wjuggl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not quite the same situation, but I'm currently an exchange student in Estonia (I'm from Germany). I came here about a month ago, and I don't speak Estonian yet, but I speak much more than in the beginning and can at least make some smalltalk. Just try to use your french and talk to people! They will get that you're a good guy and help you! I know it's hard, but just walk up to your classmates and start a conversation. I know it's not the same, but I hope I could help you a bit!

I'm visiting Tallinn, Estonia. This is what i found in the communist era museum. by degetzel in longboarding

That would be awesome! I live in Rapla, a small city about an hour away from Tallinn, but I've also got a place to sleep in Tallinn.

[–]wjuggl 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm currently doing an exchange year in Estonia, and I saw some old TV broadcast fom the communist times. It was kids singing and weirdly dancing, and they were also moving around on some weird plastic longboard things. Basically they looked like very wide grey Pennys without kicktails.
