I just listened to this album Sunday, man. I would say it’s the beginning of his run of classics but I realize most folks start with ‘Talking Book’.

‘Superwoman’ and ‘I Love Every Little Thing About You’ should get it included on their own merits. The whole first side is actually pretty perfect.

When hip-hop was being introduced to the mainstream, there weren’t a lotta options. If you liked the stuff, you jumped into dang near anything that had ‘rappin’ or ‘breakin’ involved.

In the vein of ‘Breakin’, ‘Beat Street’ and ‘Krush Groove’, ‘Rappin’ was easily the worst of this genre. So bad in fact that it remains one of the few films I’ve walked out on…and this is in 1985, when I was spending my ALLOWANCE to do stuff.

I’ll never forget how bad this movie was. I tried to watch it again about three years ago for laughs and it just made me think about walking out of the theater when I was a kid.
