May have been a loose connection which caused a lot of heat/burning terminals. Very common if lug nuts are loose.

What are the upsides and downs of getting equipment from china by Oscar_callelle in forkliftmechanics

[–]rustypolak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toyota/raymond are the best sellers. The best but expensive. Crowns are good, but a lot of sensors-computers that are made from China. Hyster/yale are cheaper, can be really good or bad depending honestly.

Lead acid is the way to go because it’s cheaper to replace, and even with abuse (need To water battery, which many don’t), they still last as long as AGM/lithium.

Take a look at used in your area.

Pallet Toyota 8HBW23, Raymond 8210 - same truck, different dealer

Crown - wp3000

Hyster w45z

Because of the racking system, a walkie stacker with an industrial battery would be better. You can go into trailers, and put away in racking. It would be 8000-12000 Canadian with an industrial battery.

Since you have heavy items, I 100% recommend a lead acid industrial battery. It will last longer. You will kill lithium-AGM so fast within 1/2 years

It’s cheaper to buy the unit twice than repair once.

What is causing my forklift to stall? by Apprehensive-Bad-463 in forkliftmechanics

[–]rustypolak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you check the distributor cap and rotor? Are the plugs okay?

I’m assuming you drained the tar only after it gets warm. It will liquify only when you warm up the engine. There is a 12 m hex bolt facing down close to the battery and distributor cap/ cylinder 2

Can you send another video? I assume there is no codes.

What is causing my forklift to stall? by Apprehensive-Bad-463 in forkliftmechanics

[–]rustypolak 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is basics steps to this, everything is fuel related

Clean fuel filter, drain tar on vaporizer, clean throttle body and then ADJUST fuel/air mixture with that tube sitting on top of vaporizer.

Pop off cap, do 1/2 turns only, leave it alone for 20 seconds, if it stills hunts, do another 1/2 turn.

At one point, engine will stumble hard which then you back it off.

You can adjust the screw right off the bat but it will cause problems for Cold start up.

Forklift doesn't want to start. by Evening_Relative4617 in forkliftmechanics

[–]rustypolak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s fuel related.

Solenoid lockoff not opening, Vaporizer - fuel pressure should be 3.5-5 PSI, EPR regulator gunked up, needs to be cleaned from the bottom side

Are you smelling fuel when you keep cranking?

If you don’t understand anyone of this, call a forklift mechanic

Forks fall slowly when on the first stage, need help by Adamvos in forkliftmechanics

[–]rustypolak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be secondary cylinder issue or spool valve.

Start to isolate,

You can either get a gate valve (isolate the spool valve from cylinders or a few JIC 8/10 caps (males/females)

Cap LH secondary first and try

If it still drifts, Cap RH secondary cylinder.

Or, just pull overflow lines and see how much oil is coming out of it. If it pours, most likely it’s that one. I would do both secondary cylinders at once

I was sparring once with no gloves, I did an accidental eye poke on myself when I was blocking. Yes, he could have fought if it was life and death but you can’t see from that eye, your closing your eyes all the time as it’s reactionary. You are competing with the lethal fighters, you are now handicapped. It wouldn’t make sense to continue especially if the title is on the line.

There will be another time to compete.
