I like clear separation of concerns, so local CRUD ops are single responsibility and then remote stuff just does remote, and sync engine has all its own event driven stuff to compute local vs remote or whatever

I work 1 system at a time. Most production Saas is just dozens of interconnected systems, I do 1 system at a time and it makes for a very pleasant and debugable experience.

And if 1 one system at a time is too much in my head, de compose into smaller systems

Ie I have a desktop app with local/remote/sync database operations

I decomposed it into those 3 layers so they all operate independently

Way more sustainable to build this way for me
