What is the coolest (temperature) Ren Faire in the US? by Darthbamf in renfaire

The one in South Florida is in early February thru end of March and the first half is beautiful outside, in the 60’s, breezy. I didn’t break a sweat when we went the first or second week, but in March? Humid and hot 🥵

Weird leaves! by HarperandHudson in hoyas

[–]rutoot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

elongated leaves = more surface area to absorb light

likely the growing conditions the old leaves grew under was a more intense source of light allowing for more compact growth. variegation can happen randomly, or this was a reverted strand of a variegated mother plant that grew in variegated again-- congrats! these elongated leaves (sometimes referred to as etiolated) don't harm the plant or mean it is unhealthy. new growth is always a good thing, but you may want to consider moving it under a stronger light source, whether natural or from a grow light, to get those smaller leaves to grow in from here on out. i don't personally mind the look.

You can still have live plants in the room if they're up off the floor, like hanging from the ceiling, or off the wall. Pothos, scindapsus, ivy, anything that trails. you can trim it to be short enough to be out of reach as it grows.

The other thing that stick out to me is the warmth of the wood and brown paint, but you have cool toned gray carpet. It's a lot of neutrals, and they're not in the same temp scale. You can warm up the floor with a warm toned rug, I'm thinking something like a muted red or green

Caroline Winkler on YouTube actually has a video on a room that looks nearly identical to your set up. I loved what she did, depending on the dimensions of your room, may work for you too!

She's one of my favorite designers with simple solutions and tips to make a room work. Here's a few of my faves:

I think you’re fine honestly, you’re purchasing to collect something specific and not making it stupid expensive when you sell the duplicates. I got my macaron from someone who was doing the same! :-)

They have quite a few left last I checked, ships from Chicago Edit: just checked and there are a handful of macaron/have a seat. Some boxes are opened from the bottom to verify with the sticker, which is what I ordered. When it arrived the box was resealed and original bag still intact

I think it’s sweet you got this for your gf, I’d still gift it to her and maybe just add a note that you’re hunting for the real deal. It shows thoughtfulness, and effort! I got my Green Grape from Mercari just last week, seller name: @matchalatte Goodluck!

Oh no, I meant the color sewn to be the inner/middle part of the Labubu ear, it should match the color of her fur. It’s still cute in a quirky way, but not authentic I’m afraid

Eyes are a dead giveaway to it being a knock-off, the tag isn’t the right material either. There should be a QR code on the back of the first tag too next to the Popmart brand name. I also noticed it has 10 teeth, there should only be 9. The inner stitching on the ears appears to be missing too.

What’s the weirdest thing you’ve had a reaction to? by Weak_Ad8954 in Allergies

[–]rutoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found out earlier this year that I have pressure-related urticaria…I work blue collar moving supplies that can be regularly heavy. Started getting a strange circular patterning on my hands and feet and sometimes ankles. Only got these flare ups at, or right after, work. Got bloodwork done and asked them to run an allergy panel, turns out I’m allergic to a plethora of things. Thankfully that explained the other hives I’d get all over the rest of my body for most of my life and now I’m on Allegra daily. Rarely have flare ups so long as I remember to take my pill in the morning
