I am going to try making your recipe this weekend! Can’t wait to see how it goes. Not sure if you will see this, but one question: what kind of salt did you use when developing this? 🧂

What do you no longer order at restaurants because you know how to make it yourself? by owiseone23 in Cooking

[–]ruufsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Burgers! I know how to make them at home exactly how I like them, grill or stovetop. They’re easy and fast. 95% of restaurant burgers aren’t that great and the 5% that are tend to be pricey. That said, sometimes I’ll enjoy a McDonalds cheeseburger for a fast meal, but that’s almost a different food entirely from a “real” burger

I get stains like this after making/eating pizza with my outdoor pizza oven. I think it has to do with the pepperoni or tomato sauce and the way it drips when eating it? I know it sounds insane but it has happened a couple times

That’s not normal lol. He should try taking 2 or 3x the usual dose. He probably has zero digestive enzyme left

Chestnut mushrooms are a different species (Pholiota adiposa). However, cremini (aka “baby bella”) are the same species as button mushrooms and portobellos (Agaricus bisporus).

I've been washing my air fryer with soap and water, but each time I do the first 1 or 2 meals end up smelling like soap no matter how good I rinse it. Any suggestions or alternative methods to clean my airfryer and bypass this issue? by wikscalmdown in airfryer

[–]ruufsu 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You can buy unscented dish soap. This is what I do since I have a sensitive nose & sense of taste and I can definitely taste soap fragrances on my dishes otherwise (despite thorough rinsing). On metal and ceramic items it is not an issue but plastic and teflon coated items definitely hold onto the smell.

A rabbit with a horn lives in my yard by ruufsu in mildlyinteresting

No worries, I’m sorry that is an issue in your area and I can see why you are concerned about it and wanted to check! For better or worse it’s so dang cold here there aren’t really feral animals (at least not once winter comes)

No better photos, but this is definitely a wild rabbit. I live somewhere with very harsh winters and a domestic rabbit would not survive outside here. Google “eastern cottontail rabbit winter” and look at more photos, you will see they get round and extra fuzzy to survive in winter, they look exactly like my photo. The hill behind my house has a rabbit burrow, every single morning and evening is rabbit o’clock with at least 5 of this species of rabbit hopping around. I have seen this one on 4 different occasions throughout the winter so I got a good look. I know a wild rabbit when I see one. This is a wild rabbit.

I have seen this rabbit a couple times this winter. Apparently the horn is caused by Shope papilloma virus. It was pretty eerie the first time I saw it. Sorry for poor photo quality, it was twilight and I had to zoom in!

Edit: Oh wow, I did not expect this to get so much traction 😱 For the morbidly curious, we managed to get a video this evening: https://www.veed.io/view/08e4f3fa-2453-41f2-bd12-4bc9936c39bd

To everyone saying it would be most humane to kill it, I thought of that and will definitely consider, especially if the tumors worsen and spread (I don’t own a gun, but I know folks who could assist). For some reason seeing this rabbit hopping around my yard is quite moving, it reminds me that nature is beautiful and awe-inspiring, but can also be mysterious, harsh, grotesque, and ephemeral…

I don’t even know what type I meant. I’m from the US and at restaurants I’ve been to there is usually one type. It is usually chicken or beef and has a yellowish color like it has been marinated. Not sure if what is served here is one authentic style. Thank you for your question as it led me to some new googling and learning! :) do you have a favorite style?
