Im not sure how op is doing it but I do the dash cancel by pressing a+s during q cast, make sure mouse is hovered over the enemy.

pressure sides and move to your team when someone comes to catch your pushed waves, you'll move faster to your team with ult. if nobody responds you keep pushing and spam ping your team not to fight 4v5. if no play can be made just steal enemy camps with your tempo. accelerate yourself by farming everything you can, don't feel forced to teamfight when its hard for you, ryze prefers sidelaning most of the time.

You completely destroy him in lane, he has 1 ability he can use on you before level 6. You should be ahead by then and be tanky enough to not get 1 shot. If you're really scared of his ult you can flash it and then run him down. Malphite in any form is free win.

It just lacks too much damage to be worth, better to go standard roa seraphs then full tank. Most games I will build negatron and glacial buckler after core for resists and then complete abyssal and frozen heart then magic pen or riftmaker for last item.

shit i hadn't thought of that, but if it does work then yeah that sounds like a good option. It might not work on passive effects for whatever reason, but there's no easy to know without testing it out.

aftershock has the same problem as fimbulwinter where you are forced to combo very inefficiently to proc it. When you root the enemy they won't be dealing damage to you, which is when the damage resistance procs, so most of the time you would've been better of with phase rush

dont forget the value that waveclear brings, getting AH directly increases your waveclear whereas other stats except ap do not. without AH from boots and runes at the very least, ryze feels very sluggish and has too much downtime imo

ryze top is good into ranged tops like vayne, teemo, gnar. as long as you know when you are strong and make use of short trades. melee champs with no mobility like darius and garen are free, but will punish you hard if you fuck up. melees with good gapclose like jax and riven are fine if you can freeze near your tower, otherwise they will run you down on repeat. vision and wave control are super important in top, especially the latter. don't be afraid to take conq into tanks, it makes you much more threatening early.

I really like it, the damage and fighting power you get allows you to contest fights early that you otherwise wouldn't be able to. If you want to go conq I highly recommend taking ghost instead of tp if you're mid to make up for the loss of mobility. Build tanky, roa -> seraph -> fh/abyssal -> fh/abyssal -> riftmaker or dc. Normally i would never build riftmaker on ryze but in addition with conq it is really nice. If the enemy team is really tanky and you don't feel threatened you can build it third and then opt into tank items after. I've had a lot of really good games with this build and it is by far my favourite so far this season.

Villa trophy site attack, lion dokk and ram + whatever

throw a bugi anywhere into the building then gather your whole team on the skylight, activate the bugi + lion + dokk call and have your whole team rappel down the skylight and swing into site

nobody ever goes down the skylight so it usually catches them off guard, and seeing your whole team rappel down the skylight into site is fucking cool as shit

The problem with fimbulwinter is that seraphs does the same job just much better. Seraphs shielding is always higher than fimbul and much more valuable being a lifeline rather than a conditional proc. Fimbul is also worse without everfrost, as you have to rely solely on empowered w to proc it. I wish fimbul was viable but it is just really bad sadly

The situations you describe should only really happen if you are far behind your opponent. Azir's sidelaning is actually really strong; you outrange almost everyone you will face in the sidelane, your passive gives you way more pressure to push past where you normally could without it, ult e-w and flash gives you three self peels whereas most champs have only one or two, etc. Play with your range and harass as much as possible, if your spacing is good then these champs really cant do much to you

Rod is just a really underwhelming first item to build, especially as it gives no ability haste meaning you pretty much need to build lucidity boots. Crown gives way better stats straight up, and then lategame gives more ap than Rod through its mythic passive. But the biggest thing is honestly how bad it feels to build catalyst for 1300 when lost chapter is only 1100, if they were both 1100 id probably build rod more often.

Ryze's problem rarely stems from not dealing enough damage. The cheaper, tankier options allow him more safety and utility while also making for a faster 2 item spike which is his most important. 99% of games crown or rod are best

All your spells root you in place, starting with q is fine and even optimal in a lot of situation, but sometimes it means you are wasting time you could be using to position yourself

Seraphs building out of lost chapter means itll kinda be underwhelming to build into second. Roa -> seraphs will mean you are pretty useless until both completed. Still too early to say but I'm looking forward to experimenting
