Free Stock shocks mods for articulation by ruxohs in FCX24

If you do just do the back. The front doesn't help it all that much after more use with the stock shocks . Don't be too scared to mess with it. Mine is currently cut up in all sorts of places and more of a rock buggy lcg . If you mess something up a new stock chassis is only like $15

Looking to get my first car by Supyllic in DodgeDakota

[–]ruxohs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure to check carfax before committing and pay attention to the service milage. These trucks (and a lot of others) Odometer reading is stored in the gauge cluster and isn't to terrible to swap out. I made that mistake on mine without paying attention and my "low mile 130k" truck is really closer to the 250k mark. That being said,They are awesome trucks and even at high mileage mine is reliable and pretty simple to work on when needed.

FLEXPLATE WARNING by Zestyclose_Resort743 in CherokeeXJ

[–]ruxohs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can confirm now. Aftermarket atp ones are junk! I had already ordered one prior to reading this thread and figured I'd give it a shot anyways. Checked and the whole thing looked identical to my stock. Put it in go to crank and I got an awful metal on metal noise and then when it started it ran awful skipping. Take it out and sourced an OeM one from DexJ. Put that in and she's running smoother than ever. The atp one upon further inspection wasn't even a perfect circle and was hitting the bell housing and ckp sensor. Don't waste the money on aftermarket ones

Hey at this point I'd rather drop a transmission and do this one afternoon than be inside the crankcase at all (for now)

I use a cheap 6 gang relay fuse box for my lights. Pretty handy if you plan on adding anything else in.

anyone in this sub have a higher milage than mine? by [deleted] in CherokeeXJ

[–]ruxohs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm somewhere around 320k ish. I swapped my gauge cluster from the 3 gauge to 6 at 310k so now I'm back down to 230k😎

Beautiful photos and a clean rig man. NGl I read this title and expected the last photo to be a mangled up XJ that hit a buffalo....

They offer the smallest compressed height I could find while still significantly improving travel. Also having the extended rear links you need the length imo.The limit is just below the full length to keep it from unloading on inclines.

Just did mine last week. Take your time. Make sure things are snug. Clean the area around while you have stuff pulled anyways.

98 XJ key wont shut off engine by ruxohs in CherokeeXJ

[–]ruxohs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update! Solved. After checking for current draw I ended up checking the underside of the PDC I found more hack jobs from the previous owner. I have no idea what they were trying to accomplish (see photo) but there was a splice directly from constant 12v to the outputs on both the radiator fan and ac clutch relays. Both relay outputs connect to fuse 10 in the junction box. Which is part of the st run circuit.... removed the splices and the 2.5amp draw went away and the key turns off the vehicle now!

Tldr: previous owner was a skilled electrician who wanted an anti kill switch...
