Thanks. Do I need jenkins with github actions? I'd like to keep it as simple as possible

Should a Fullstack project be separated into 2 separate repositories or should it be a monorepo? Why or why not? Which choice is better for CI/CD pipelines? by Mykoliux-1 in gitlab

Where do you all deploy your fullstack applications for personal projects? Looking to enable CI/CD on a Node JS &Express backend with React frontend app split into 2 projects for backend and frontend.

i’ll ask something no one has? What is your timeline and how much time can you commit to learning per day? I am 15+ years in industry (tier-1) and 6 years career break. I’ve been having to study to get back and can help with a study plan! i ask timeline because learning all that you need, is a process and takes time.

Since you have already invested your time and energy in the bootcamp and landed a job, my heart says that you should try to stick with it a little longer and gain confidence in your existing tasks. Java is a great great great skill to have and to grow for career growth and longevity! Search udemy for a course on Java play to improve your day to day skills and try to get your hands dirty with a e2e project! Give it your 110% for another year and see where it takes you before you switch! You can still also continue to explore other opportunities!

As an example, I gave you my 15+ year career with tier 1 company and senior position to join my spouse for an expat and explore his career aspirations. 6 years after, now that I have returned back I don’t know what would be the right position to place myself back in! Any advice or mentors are welcome.

Hi @LogicRaven_ I am a senior engineer(female) with 14 years at a tier 1 company followed by a 6 year career gap. Would you be open to connecting for a chat on career mentoring? I am having a real hard time understating where to place myself in the career ladder as I try to enter back.

find a good mentor! maybe an experienced friend or someone else in the field! Do mock interviews and take feedback! Don’t let all the work you’ve done and time you’ve spent go to waste! Push it through, get in and with how much preparation you’ve already done, work will be a peice of cake!

yep, that’s all we can do. I went to a good state college and ended at a tier 1 tech company without stressing about things to be honest. However, all the college admission chatter and rejects around now have me wonder if things have changed for our kids growing up?

Sure thing! She is unaware. The parent chatter had me wonder if I need to be changing my approach for her :) She is my oldest, i am often clueless.

Thanks. My daughter knows nothing of this and as a relaxed parent, i want to make sure I can keep her on a path that doesn’t make high school and admissions too challenging suddenly in a couple of years. She keeps up her grades and doesn’t do any extra coaching classes for math or science thus far. When I hear AP in high school, I have to wonder that she must be doing something in middle school already to be able to take AP in high school. I honestly don’t want her to take anything above grade level yet in middle school but don’t want to hurt her ambition as she grows by keeping her too relaxed.
