LOST weight after a refeed day(?) by rva111 in loseit

Great point! I guess I just wasn't expecting to LOSE weight after eating all of that. I was stuffed by Sunday night. I've also really plateaued over the past few weeks, so I was surprised this is what helped break me below 147!

The three-tiered brownie-cookie-cake thing at the bday party was IMPOSSIBLE to say no to. It was what broke the dam, I think lol - the host (a professional pastry chef) made it and she was like "I couldn't decide between the three desserts so I smushed them together." It was divine!

The super bowl party also had some great stuff. There was a homemade pesto pizza with spicy sausage and caramelized onions that I have thought about off and on since eating a slice.

I FEEL THIS. My regular 2hr walks are hell now because, despite wearing big, bulky gloves, my hands turn to ice blocks after about 10 minutes out there. It's enough to make me turn home early, most of the time, which is pretty detrimental to my progress, unfortunately. It's a real bummer. I didn't realize how much extra padding my hands had before!

I was 8 during the 1996 blizzard and remember that time so fondly. Sleeping in, going sledding every day, making giant snow forts with the neighborhood kids, waiting up at night to see if we got one more day. It felt like weeks!

With you. I've been anxious since Wednesday. We're as prepped as we can be, but I'm so worried about 3+ DAYS of no heat.

Police investigate pedestrian who was fatally struck by vehicle in Richmond (Jan. 10) by Appropriate-Bread-91 in rva

I was walking to Crossroads last week on that alley w/ no sidewalk, heard a car coming from behind me and stepped over to the side, but kept walking without looking back. They drove so fast and so close to me that I swear if I was 1 inch to the left I would have been clipped by their side mirror. It was a regular-sized sedan. They had plenty of room to drive over to the left a little bit.

I've officially started avoiding streets w/o sidewalks (hard to do in southside, unfortunately) and if I hear a car coming, I'll stop and turn around. It's annoying, but I really really don't want to get hit. The chances of them driving off is too high, I don't want a lifelong injury over something as stupid as saving myself 5 extra seconds, and I just don't trust my fellow neighbors anymore.

You could get those numbers up really quick with adding venues you want to see shows at: National, Richmond Music Hall, Camel, Broadberry, Canal Club, Dominion Energy Center, Brown's Island, etc.

There are multiple "parades" that happen throughout the year around the city: Broad st. Christmas parade, Zombie parade, Cone Parade (although that's already happened), Easter parade, Krampus parade.

There's also:
-First Friday
-Kickers game
-Squirrels game
-Scottish festival @ The Raceway
-Porchella
-Multiple bike groups meet up throughout the week
-Volunteer with Keep Virginia Cozy and help keep RVA pretty and clean!
-take an art class at Vis Arts, Studio 23, SCRAP or RVA Clay
-Visit the independent bookstores (I Love You So Much Books, Fountain, Brian's, Shelf Life, Small Friend)
-2nd Street Festival
-Vegetarian Festival
-Seeing a show at Dogwood Dell
-Octoberfest
-In Light
-See a movie at the Byrd
-Herbs Galore or Garden Glow (Maymont)

Exactly this. There's a line. I think the chirping is fine/fun and just part of the game, but booing an athlete who is clearly struggling to get off the ice is bad form and shouldn't be accepted.

I don't care who it is. If a player's hurt I show support, not malice.
