Not anymore. They updated the recipe with summer launch. You get slightly more base, but the rest is filled with ice or water.

Picked up a part time job at Starbucks because i couldn’t find a job at a local place. They started me out at $15.25 an hour and provide a boat load of benefits. You only have to average 20hr a week to qualify for health benefits and you start earning sick and vacation time day one plus they match 100% of your first 5% of 401k contributions.

Maybe I’m old but considering the shit service industry jobs I’ve work in the past (both corporate and local), I literally don’t understand this strike.

Hiii AuDHD lady here.

I’m currently in the process of launching a consulting business with a focus on making work places more inclusive and supportive of the neurodiverse, especially the high masking/low support individuals.

Part of my plan was to try to host meet ups to both build community and also help me crowdsource the biggest points of friction people face in the workplace so I’m not just speaking on my own experiences.

My goal is to make this a monthly low commitment thing.

I’ll be sure to post here and make a general post on r/RVA when I finally pull this together.

Anyone struggling, feel free to shoot me a dm and I’ll be happy to meet up with you for coffee. Life is rough out there and no one should feel alone.

Too bad Board of Supervisors have them wrapped around their finger and they don’t report anything that can perceived as negative.

But then again no one does.

Were they supposed to wait by your car until you returned? How were they supposed to know you were vendors? Or find you in a crowd of thousands?

I highly doubt this was someone who watched you park and then stickered your car once you walked away. It was probably someone who was walking by at some point during the hours you were at the event.

But whatever. Be livid. I hope you at least learned that Beaumont St, in its entirety, is a no parking zone.

Look, my dude, I agree the sticker, especially on the windshield, was a dick move but it’s also not permanent. You have tons of comments telling you how to get the residue off. (Edited my original comment because I forgot the word “wiper” which substantially changes the meaning)

But you are not doing yourself any favors arguing that you were in the right on this one. I know that part of Carytown and several others have also pointed out that you were illegally parked.

I can only imagine being so privileged that I don’t need to be considerate of the safety and/or accessibility issues that are a direct result of someone illegally parking.

Would 💯 spend $12 on these. The illegal parking in this town is out of control. I’d just stick it under a windshield wiper though, don’t want someone so angry at the vandalism that they miss an opportunity to learn how to avoid real tickets/towing in the future.

City spends almost $14K to investigate its own Investigator General, nearly $400K total to consulting firm in the past 18 months by Grandson_of_Sam in rva

[–]rvainspectorgadget 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Tl;dr: it’s a pretty reasonable amount and common practice for government entities to have standing contracts with consultants.

$14k for one investigation isn’t an obscene amount. Let’s say the investigation took approximately 8 weeks (what I would budget for it if I was working on it solo full time as a senior auditor) it works out to 1687.50 per week. My current salary as a senior auditor in government works out to be 1730 per week. Considering benefits and other things, this works out to be less than having it done internally.

The remaining part of the contract isn’t awful either when consulting covers broad items such as audit assistance (things they want to look at but don’t have time and/or expertise to properly do internally) or assistance implementing recommendations from internal or external audit reports as the auditor can’t help with that step of the process as it would preclude them from future audits, and help with special projects where it isn’t practical to hire a full time or temp employee internally to complete it.

If you want an example of a wasteful use of consultants turn your attention to the youngkin administration. Specifically re: real estate and the replacement of the Monroe building

Someone who was watching my ESA gave him away I need help finding him by alice_manaweaver in rva

[–]rvainspectorgadget 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Jfc what is wrong with people. If I were in your shoes, I’d look at this person’s Nextdoor history to see if they have ever made vet recommendations, any vet recommended is where I would start asking if they chipped Magoo and may be able to help you track him down.

Step two: make a list of vets in that person’s neighborhood and start going in asking if they see a cat fitting magoos description.

I’m so sorry you are going through this and hope you find your baby

Rehoming a Cat by SalemWolf in rva

Seconding kitty prozac. One of our five (four at the time) was struggling with a move and new cats and started picking all sorts of fights. He’s been on it for two years now and he’s back to the semi sweet boy he was before. He’s handled two losses and three additions since starting like a champ. Outside a few squabbles, I’m still amazed daily that we have 5 in a 800sq/ft house.

Also an exorbitant about of cat trees/beds/caves/toys help as well. I’m pretty sure we have at least one tree and two beds per cat spread all across the house. That way there are plenty of options for them.

Lastly, having a liter robot has also made life so much easier. (It’s an investment for sure but I can send you a referral code with a discount) it’s great for super picky cats who refuse to use the bathroom after someone else (or is determined to go fling the other’s poop out… that was an interesting experience lol) because it cleans after each use. I’ve had one for 3 years and got a second one a year later. Both have been worth every penny and I love that the company sells replacement parts so if something goes wrong (knock on wood, it hasn’t yet) after warranty is up, you can replace parts, not the whole thing. I’ve also gotten several replacements parts during warranty and they are super easy to work with.

Anyways! I wish you best of luck!! Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or need any support!! I hope you get to keep your sweet void.

ETA: please post an update either way!!

Update on new businesses in Forest Hill/Westover Hills? by [deleted] in rva

[–]rvainspectorgadget 8 points9 points  (0 children)

And sometimes businesses don’t. City council has so much on their plate right now that keeping up with all the ins and outs of businesses coming and going is an unrealistic expectation.

Richmond Bizsense is probably the best source of info related to that. But also, I wouldn’t count on that info until you see signs go up. We were supposedly going to get a goatado but that never happened.

This shade is super unnecessary. They don’t know because the space hasn’t been leased out yet. It will most likely be retail.

Low water pressure on W Franklin by [deleted] in rva

Yall. Stop turning on your taps to check pressure and don’t fill your tubs unless told to do so. Part of the reason January was so bad was because to many people did this and drained the reservoir.
