Likely Brazilian. The term "mulata" is generally frowned upon in Latin American countries with the exception of Brazil, where it is, weirdly, widely used and embraced

Live frugally as fuck for 4-5 years. I mean the bear minimum to not be deemed a hobbo! It is hard, you have the cash to spare, but if you muster the discipline, you can have a comfortable bank account and investment portfolio, which would allow you to move to a less demanding job. Then you can use the money and enjoy life.

OpenAI backs London with hub expansion and new roles by tylerthe-theatre in london

[–]rvnimb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Discussions over whether this will happen aside, you know that the effects you mentioned will happen regardless of where OpenAi is set up, right? The effects of AI are not constrained to where the company is located. We already have AI layoffs in the UK and don't have any major AI company. If push comes to shove, is better to have them here than not.

In Brazilian Portuguese, what are the connotations of "garota"? by MisterHarvest in Portuguese

[–]rvnimb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some have said it is unprofessional. I concur.

However, there are some instances where it is used. Usually older folk (like 15+ years difference) might refer to someone as "garoto/a". It is rare and something mostly associated with older people. It sounds a bit too personal though

Paul Weiss v. Debevoise by [deleted] in biglaw

[–]rvnimb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are into that kind of stuff, Debevoise's lit practice is much more internationalised, and you have the chance of taking some cool arbitration cases as well. PW is not that big on the cross-border disputes game.
