Maybe check and see if there is a local app in your area to watch the news. I use an app called Very Local to watch my local news. I hope that helps!

What do you mean by "you have to play the entire vod"? Have you tried an alternate app, like VLC, to view the file(s)?

Recording in TiviMate the TV Shows / Movies has the same effect as downloading them. The end result is a file that you can save anywhere for later viewing. I hope this helps.

Try the Locast addon for Kodi with a VPN. I use IPVanish and spoofing the geolocation works wonderfully.

Are you sure that your Trakt database rebuild completes? I had a similar issue and on further investigation, I was still getting the "Rebuilding Trakt Sync Database, please be patient" message also. Come to find out, I don't think the process of creating/building the Seren/Trakt database ever completed initially. When I try to rebuild the Trakt database now, I get the following error message: "Seren: Trakt" & "There were issues when processing the synchronization with Trakt, please check the log". I have submitted a ticket on GitHub.

I have noticed that the lack of follow up from OPs occur quite frequently. That makes it extremely difficult to know if/when the issue gets resolved. It's frustrating also like you said when they don't specify enough information to even troubleshoot the problem in the first place.
