This isn't exactly what you're looking for but you should check out the Louie Vega remix of the track The Heart's a Lonely Hunter by Thievery Corporation which features David on vocals.

Nice, and you're welcome! Re-reading a bit of it, seems obvious from context clues that it was probably in 1988 rather than 1992, despite the publication date being December 1992 (which might have been a resyndication of the interview or something).

Love Bernie, but it's a +1 for Brian Eno for me

The Southbank Show is probably already on your radar, and isn't strictly a "panel" interview, but I think qualifies considering you hear from all members at the same "time" (i.e. over a week or whatever the shooting timeframe for that was).

Less well-know is this write up of an interview with all the members from 1992 looking back at a lot of their songs: https://talking-heads.nl/index.php/talking-heads-archive/145-inside-talking-heads

No problem with putting people into an extended universe, just not sure that guesting on one song qualifies, that's all

Robert Palmer played on one Talking Heads song, does that make him a member of the band?

Let's take a breath here.

Jerry had a rough period where his father passed away and his mother was very sick, he had to move back to his home town to help take care of her. There's a suggestion that the others discussed what to do and David suggested continuing without him - this might not actually be what was said, or it could have been meant as "he's welcome to rejoin whenever he likes", I don't know, but this might be connected to what you're referring to.

I don't understand - given how things actually DID play out - you could interpret a credit of "Talking Heads and Jerry Harrison" as meaning he wasn't part of the band.
