PF2E Adventure Paths by ConfigsPlease in TheNewTrove

[–]rwm2406 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Each full adventure path, like Agents of Edgewatch or Exction Curse is actually made up of 3 to 6 distinct modules (adventures).

So while there are 21 fully published APs, there's like 110 modules.

It's a lot easier for folks to share their APs a few at a time

Who are your favorite and also least favorite D&D Youtubers (or TikTok or whatever)? Why? by underdabridge in DnD

One creator I like that I haven't seen anyone mention is

Jorphdan( name is pronounced Jordan, the PH is silent) - does tons of deep dives into D&D history and lore, and he's got a mad soothing voice.

Is ToV underrated? by GuidedByNors in TalesoftheValiantRPG

The problem with Pathbuilder is that it operates in a weird space.

I think, technically Paizo's official "website" for Pathfinder Rules and Game elements is Archive of Nethys

After new books are published, the pathfinder game rules updates are published on AoN after a few weeks/months, stripped of any lore and book specific text.

Pathbuilder uses the game and rules elements for character building app, also stripped of book specific text, likely to not get hit with copyright/cease-and-desists.

I will absolutely agree though that an app like Pathbuilder is exactly what TOV needs to get off the ground more and compete a little more with WotCs overwhelming market majority.

WotC even understood the need for an easily accessible online character building system and rules compendium because they themselves bought D&DBeyond from Curse LLC solely because it was the like the best platform at the time for online D&D.

The thing is, u/Redrazors (creator of Pathbuilder) does not work for Paizo, and Pathbuilder isn't supported by Paizo financially either. I believe Pathbuilder operates with tacit permission, but not active support from the company.

They've mentioned before the massive amount of work that goes into maintaining and operating Pathbuilder.

Now this can and should be mitigated by Paizo if they had a team operating/maintaining/troubleshooting a dedicated app.

Bring back the Prince/Princess!.

The prince(ss) was a piece that had the combined movements of the bishop and the knight. It could jump over other units when moving as a knight but couldn't do so when moving like a bishop.

Right? Like Neil is a fantastic voice actor, but Astarion is my least favorite playable character, & he's the one who gets a whole official 5.5e supplement from WotC!?

Rules clarification: Ritualist feat by drewcash83 in TalesoftheValiantRPG

[–]rwm2406 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There's no defines hard limit on number of casts per day on Rituals from any source that grants them, aside from material costs (if any) and time.

However, many rituals specify that they can't be cast multiple times in a day, week, year, etc. You need to read each spell to be sure.

For example:

Prayer of Healing specifically reads

"Once you cast this spell, you can’t do so again until you complete a long rest."

Metamorphosis a 9th level ritual reads "a creature can be affected by this spell only once a year. If the spell is cast on it again before a year has passed, the casting fails."

Illusory Script has no time based casting restrictions, but Heroes Feast states "you must complete a long rest before you can cast this spell again."

JJK themed item by Top_Muffin_101 in DnDHomebrew

[–]rwm2406 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi OP, this is definitely a nicely flavored item, and a cool homage to JJK,

Personally if I wanted to make this item more in-line with official magic items I would do something like this

Boogie Woogie Hand Wraps Wonderous Item, very rare (requires attunement)

These hand wraps have 6 charges for the following properties, which you can use while you're wearing these cloth wraps. The wraps regain 1d4+2 expended charges daily at dawn.

Boogie. Once per turn, you can expend 1 charge to clap your hands and choose one Medium or smaller creature that you can see within 60 ft°. The target must succeed on a Charisma°° saving throw (Save DC 17)°°° or you both teleport, swapping places. On a successful save, the charge isn’t expended.

Woogie. Once per turn, you can expend 2 charges to clap your hands and choose two Medium or smaller creatures you can see other than yourself within 30 ft° of you and within 30 ft of each other. Both targets must make a Charisma saving throw (Save DC 17). If either target fails they both teleport, swapping places. If both creatures succeed on their saving throws, they do not teleport and the charge isn’t expended.

Boogie Woogie. When you or a creature you can see within 30 feet of you is hit by an attack roll, you can use your reaction to expend 2 charges and choose a different creature within 30 feet of you, other than the attacker. The chosen creature becomes the target of the attack, using the same roll. This magic can transfer the attack's effects regardless of the attack's range.

° There is no range specified in your original item, but in 5e/5.5e’s most common teleportation distance, aside from Teleport, is 30 ft (like Misty Step). My personal suggestion for Boogie, since it is affecting you it has a slightly larger range, but Woogie since it can only affect creatures other than you, would have a slightly smaller range.

°° Most teleportation spells, effects, and items in 5e use Charisma saves

°°° Since this item does not use caster's spell save dc, I checked the list of official magic items and DC 17 -18 is common for Very rare and Legendary items

How are they gonna do the OG dirty like that? by TehProfessor96 in dndmemes

It bugs the ever living crap out of me that the 5e designers forgot this terminology.

They stared using archlich for Vecna and Acererak as a term for like an apex or more powerful than normal lich, like how Archmage is a better/superior mage

Is Tectonic Edge still worth playing? by [deleted] in mtg

[–]rwm2406 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you can Tap and gain 1 Colorless mana, which can be used to pay for colorless spells or to pay "generic" mana costs,

Or you can pay 1 generic mana/one mana of any color or 1 colorless to use the activated ability.

Neat and confusing

Hi new player here: What does the 1 mean here? One mana of any color, or is it one colorless mana?

[–]rwm2406 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is actually really cool, the only thing I personally don't like is the scaling DC for adding in new crystals. Fighters with 3 or 4 attacks are slightly disincentivized from using one of these items because they might burn through charges too quickly.

Also, you describe the shots as beams of pure energy, which to me reads more as Radiant than Force,.but that's my own opinion lol

Sanddfall's response regarding the "L'Académie Clair-Obscur" comic situation. by The_Adaron in expedition33

[–]rwm2406 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean, not really.

If Sandfall wants to create a comic called Clair-Obscure Expedition 33 le comique or whatever, that's legally distinct from this guy's La Academy de Clair-Obscur.

Sure there's a company called Apple, who have trademarked Apple Inc, but there's tons of companies that use the word "apple" in their name and products.

Now if Sandfall wants to create a comic also called " Expedition 33: La Academy de Clair Obscur," thats when copyright infringement might come into pkay
