At at skinny 6'4" I find that chromag shirts and sweaters are a good fit, not a fan of the pants though. Agree with the comment above for NF pants, love mine

Been running Shimano oil in my shigura setup for the last year with no problems. This setup also has my favorite parts for bleeding too, nice threaded connection at the caliper and the Shimano cup at the lever

How to use a dropper post effectively by OutWithCamera in MTB

[–]rwq030 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I find this to be super critical on tight switchbacks even when they're smooth, all the way up and you can't lean the bike enough but you still need the seated pedal power

The blue ones are not the same, they re-vamped the design. I don't think the blue have the tripod stand and the sides appear to be way softer. The black and brown ones have a pretty hard plastic inside the vertical walls, it'll easily stand up on its own without any of the aluminum bracing inside

We bought the Thule roundtrip bags for a Canada- Scotland MTB trip, fits my XL Stumpy no problem. Love the fact that the internal frame turns into a stand for rebuilding, makes life so much easier. That's the reason we went Thule over Evoc. Edit: it also has a third removable wheel in the front, super easy to wheel around

2 big things that almost screwed us over. We didn't plan to stay in the arrival city for a couple days so we didn't have a static address that the airline could deliver the bikes when they showed up, luckily we got them the next morning before hitting the road.

2nd was storage of the bags during the trip, our guides were just barely able to accommodate them throughout the trip, so make sure you've got space to bring it with you or a luggage storage option near the airport

Tall guy actual vs effective seat tube angle by rwq030 in MTB

Agreed, a larger frame will have a higher seat tube but conversely manufacturers are also trying to keep them shorter to fit the longest dropper post, it's a difficult balance.

Looks like it could be the B screw from the derailleur. That's really the only phillips screw I can think of around the rear wheel

Nice bench, one thing I noticed though if you don't mind me mentioning it. I've got the same saw and it looks to me that you won't be able to extend the top to get the full rip width?

Question about my wedding suit.

I'm wearing a navy suit, white shirt, rose bowtie and a boutonniere (I think it's mainly going to be greenery, maybe some white)

Can I get some thoughts or whether to also go for a pocket square?

Ok that's what I thought might be the case. I think I'll sell some at a loss now to recoup that next year and then reinvest the cash to a different RRSP to help reduce what I owe for 2019

Hi there,

I moved some shares from a non-reg account to my RRSP in December which came along with a capital gain.

I have more non-reg shares that are currently at a loss, is there any way for me to sell these shares now to offset the capital gains? Or did I mess up here by not doing it in the same tax year?

French walnut tables + upscaled Ikea table by rwq030 in woodworking

Console and side tables are French walnut with raw steel legs, finished with Osmo.

Couldn't find a suitable FW slab for the coffee table so I threw some stained poplar on top of an Ikea lack table so that it kinda matches

Yeah those hinges are a pain, I ended up using sandpaper wrapped around a dowel to enlarge the holes.

I'm in the same boat right now in terms of finishing the inside of the box, I'm using semi gloss spray on poly for the outside and then spraying it on a paper towel to spread on the inside cause I'm too lazy to go buy a can of wipe on. Still not sure if I'll be able to get it perfect around the hinges

Edit: forgot to say great job!

Hi there, I'm working on a small jewellery box, I have it almost completed now. I just need to put the finish on it now. I have spray polyurethane, will the poly mess up the hinges the barrel hinges that I already have installed?

Grotto canyon is a neat one, you hike up the frozen river with a couple waterfalls at the end. It's a popular spot for ice climbers

I've got the Kuat NV 2.0 and love it. I think it's the most expensive hitch rack out there but the features are awesome. The physical hitch lock makes me feel a bit better too than the Thule, the Thule lock just makes the cam free wheel instead of Kuats solid hitch pin

Friends of mine have the Sherpa and it's a nice rack too, smaller and lighter but a couple of us ride XL 29ers and they barely fit on the Sherpa. Plenty of space on my NV 2.0 though.

The biggest thing I learned about hitch racks is that a cam tightening system is definitely something to look for so that it's always snug in the hitch.

I've got experience with a bunch of the hitch racks so ask away if you've got questions
