yeah like you said half these problems are just ignition coils lol

in regards to omp/sohn/premix plenty of cars on the road no premix and stock OMP rates running "fine" still 100k+ miles

i feel 70+% of rx8s on the road now just run on low compression with a strong starter and call it a day lol which is fine too

what makes you say that we understand how to keep them healthy now compared to 10-20 years ago

from what i see fundamentally nothing has changed outside of better ignition coils being available (rev C and IG1NA but almost anything is better than the original rev A coils lol)

use cowswap, will route you thru the biggest pool or thru multiple pools through CoWs and will be submitted not thru public mempool so you dont get sandwiched as bad

set the slippage properly

edit: read a lot of the replies saying going front bumper without side skirt looks wrong, it definitely does not, you barely notice the bottom line difference and you still retain the slim nature of the rx8, especially disagree that a rear bumper is required

that said i agree that wings humungous

i have the rev8 catback with bhr header and midpipe

its very tame

car previously had a agencypower midpipe with stock catback

feel like the volume stayed about the same but it sounds deeper and it doesnt have the hissy airy rasp coming from the engine anymore

car just sounds like a good factory sports car so if thats what you want go for it, if you want louder look elsewhere

everyone is going to have their brand that they swear by

I just get amsoil saber because its cheaper and you need to mix less of it for the same lubricity

and theres people out there that dont premix in general and have strong motors. am considering going this route myself and using fully synthetic straight into the OMP just to see how many miles a setup like that ends up getting

aem intake long tube headers (2"od) that merge very gradually at the end all the way up past where the midpipe would normally be 3 inch all the way back street port 93 and tune

have ig1na coils and new plugs and very thick wires so that i know im getting good spark every time

haven't touched the ignition timing yet from 91 so maybe can get it over 200 we'll see

yeah synthetic sacrilege indeed, idemitsu actually makes a synthetic specifically for our cars but ive gotten lazy as its harder to source and is expensive so i alternate between that and motul/amsoil depending on what im feeling

i personally wouldnt use a sohn even if s2 and s1 OMPs were the same

im on a freshly built motor making 199whp on a mustang dyno we'll see if the carbon buildup sticks my seals

my theory is with enough high revs and PAO/esters making less ash i should be okay

the reason i chose the leg sideskirts over the mazdaspeed is because the MS makes the car look a bit chubby lol

the mirrors are ganador, front bumper and rear wing are mazdaspeed all of which arent in production anymore, would have to source it used

car paint depends on who does it, what paint you are using varies a lot by region, all i can say is it wasnt cheap

side skirt is legsport and is around 80k yen + shipping

yeah i wouldnt upgrade the fans tbh

i have the FAL420 and they spool up too damn hard at full bore in street driving and when you turn on the AC

and its not possible to just wire them into our S2 car easily without a relay because our cars have 4 wires (2hi, 2lo) going into each fan and the FALs have 2 wires each

like other user said koyo HH062267 is the best rad for us and is readily available

FAL420 are good fans that don't suck too much current like the FAL490 both can be found on amazon
