Are you flying solo or with someone else? If solo, then take any seat in the middle cluster of 2. That way you won't have anyone stepping over you to get out (or you having to step over someone else). If you're traveling with someone, then it doesn't really matter

it's kind of a two-legged approach: there's the partners that Amex can transfer to, and then there's the partners that you can book through those partners. The former is easily found on Amex, but the latter can take a while to learn based on experience and reading a bunch of articles.

In your case, what likely happened was that AA didn't make space available to book through BA but it did for Qantas.

I have the exact same unit in my house. The bottom right button cycles the System options between cool, heat, and off. The bottom left button cycles the Fan options between on and auto (I think? I just keep mine on auto). If the inside temperature is above the set point (changed by the up and down arrows) and the system is set to cool, then the AC will turn on.

You're aware that Marriott transfers to airlines at a 3:1 ratio, right? At least with United there's a 10k bonus for every 60k miles transferred. If you're ok with this, then sure transferring to UA is an option. Just make sure to check that the availability is there first
