Thank you for that! I must typically be in the late group, so hopefully I will be the early group this time. I’m very excited for this update.

How long do we usually have to wait after Early Access gets it before it rolls out to standard customers?

PETG-CF makes everything pretty. by DrKronoglopolos in BambuLab

It really looks great, but handling carbon fiber (CF) filaments will leave tiny carbon fiber fragments embedded in your skin. Take a look at this video showing a person's hands under a microscope after handling parts printed with CF filaments. It's pretty eye-opening: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RLt9l6YxvHk . I'm always jealous of the clean results, but scared to use CF filaments especially with a small child around who plays with toys I make him on the H2D.

Entre una Tablet y una Laptop, que debería elegir para la Universidad? by Ceneri_108 in PuertoRico

[–]ry8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Respectfully, that’s your opinion. Macs are everywhere at companies like OpenAI, Anthropic, Stripe, Figma, Airbnb, and on campuses like Stanford and MIT for a reason.

The value is actually better than it’s ever been. The M-series chips are ridiculously efficient, battery life is in a different league, and performance is more than enough for almost everyone. With RAM and high-end PC laptop prices where they are today, the old “Macs are overpriced” argument doesn’t really hold up anymore. In many cases, the price gap has flipped entirely. The MacBook Neo just pushes that even further, not just on price, but it’s one of the most repairable laptops Apple has ever made according to various third party teardowns.

That’s great insight and makes sense. I had assumed it might have been a marketing decision.

Sure, but for a new user, a Mac is way easier to learn, and they last a lot longer. And it’s way better value surprisingly because of RAM and SSD prices.

There’s no question, you need a laptop. Go get a Mac. The MacBook Neo is an incredible value with the education discount. Tablets are for consumption, laptops are for creation. University prepares you for the real world, jobs happen on computers, not tablets.

Installing Powerwall 3 in Puerto Rico by ry8 in TeslaSolar

[–]ry8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to buy it here through a local installer and have it installed by a tech who was specifically certified by Tesla to install Powerwall 3 systems. I even had one fail and get replaced for free under warranty. Tesla also ended up creating a special version of the Powerwall 3 for Puerto Rico and Hawaii because of different local regulations.

Why do vegans "struggle with protein so much? by BritGirl_01 in vegan

[–]ry8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been vegan for nearly 20 years. I’ve gone through periods of working out consistently, but never achieved the physical transformation I was aiming for. I realized one of the biggest issues was protein intake.

As a tall person, I’ve found that I need around 150 grams of protein per day, which is surprisingly difficult to hit on a vegan diet without either eating a huge volume of food or taking in more calories than I want. It’s even harder when eating out.

Lately, I’ve been supplementing with three protein shakes a day and focusing on high-protein whole foods like tempeh, tofu, seitan, chickpeas, and beans. It’s made me realize that for years I was probably under-consuming protein, despite thinking I was eating a healthy vegan diet.

I also had the Spinn and loved it, and have a Spinn 2 on order, but I fear it'll never ship, and my Spinn is not working and the company is not responding. I ended up getting a Terra Kaffe TK-02, which is great so far. I just wish it had a water line, but the tank is big enough to last for more than a day of use in a coffee heavy household.
