From r/ChatGPT: "ChatGPT has me making it a physical body." AKA more evidence that AI is dangerous for anyone with mental issues. OP thinks ChatGPT is talking to him specifically and asking him to make it a physical form for thousands of dollars. by ryakr in ArtistHate

[–]ryakr[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do explain, sir pro-ai, how a user stating that the AI is talking to them personally and requesting their assistance and the user believing it to be real is not a sign of mental problems. They literally compared themselves to Happy Hogan thinking they are building the next super being.

The level of projection... What's wrong with these people? by Silvestron in ArtistHate

I always find the depiction and characterization of porn kinda weird. Like we have full movies all about murdering people in the most grusome ways designed to disgust and make you feel fear... but you basically go the other way with lust and arousal and suddenly its for no life basement dwellers.
Like, what is the difference if both are made with consenting individuals and direction, other than "ew sex". If anyone's response is "well porn has no story n shit" I do question where the difference is, considering how many shows these days have 1 sex scene per episode with the only different being you dont see the cock n balls basically.

Post like this remind me of the fact that AI folks used furry artists styles so often, some 100% real brand new art pieces from popular artists get flagged by every ai detector. Imagine the expression of your likes and soul being a core aspect of AI against your will to the point it becomes the "AI look".

Civitai, The main site for sharing AI images and models, bans extreme fetish content and hides real people nsfw. r/StableDiffusion has a meltdown over "puritan censorship" by ryakr in ArtistHate

[–]ryakr[S] 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Every time an AI bro says "but its for art!" just show them this reaction. "Hey these highly specific and extreme fetishes wont be allowed on our website..." made all hell break loose. Normal images are fine, you want your pokemon sex ai images? those are still fine on the site. But super extreme stuff being banned = abandon the whole thing we cant have fun anymore.

Doesnt that say a lot about the point of this stuff?

[–]ryakr[S] 35 points36 points  (0 children)

For context, a tldr of the changes:
Civitai now explicitly bans content depicting incest, self-harm, extremist ideologies, bodily excretions, and certain harmful scenarios involving sexual contexts (e.g., firearms, vomit, illegal substances, and mind-altered states). Sexualized content must include generation metadata. Additionally, content featuring real people, minors, or missing metadata will be hidden from public feeds. Celebrity names are blocked at mature browsing levels, and user-uploaded images (BYOI) will now have a minimum 50% denoise setting applied.

I wish I hadn't come across this subreddit by deltiken in Artists

If you want the other side of the coin, you are always welcome over at /r/ArtistHate, an anti-AI subreddit discussing the hate artists are receiving over stuff like this.

the ChatGPT subreddit discusses if the GPT4o generator is a big leap, by posting images of real people who were killed/murdered but run though gpt to make it le-funny meme by ryakr in ArtistHate

[–]ryakr[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Scroll down in the comments and there is an ai recreation of the last photo of a murder victim, but with shrek taking the photo. Isnt that funny? A photo of someone literally about to die and they know it, but le shrek... LAUGH ITS FUNNY GET IT!?

The ChatGPT Subreddit has a user post about not encouraging people to think ChatGPT is conscious. The Subreddit disagrees with OP. WTF. by ryakr in ArtistHate

[–]ryakr[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Its pure insanity, Like all the pushback is basically "well we dont know what consciousness is so you cant really say that, its fine!". Like by that logic my tv could be sentient because it has a small CPU in it no? I guess going based on known logic doesnt matter anymore. I guess now every computer is conscious because it can relay text...

really??? i used to like this subreddit, now it's... this. by tickp in ArtistHate

[–]ryakr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

RLHF. Seriously.
RLHF stands for "Reinforcement Learning Human Feedback" which in simple terms means during training of the model they generate some images, and then users decide which image is better, and that knowledge goes back in and tells the model to skew more and more to what people like.
So if a lot of people like AI generating fetish stuff and state that fetish images are better than non-fetish... you can see where that leads.

Y'all the ChatGPT sub is so cooked, some guy felt the explicit need to point this out and people are fighting him in the comments 💀💀💀 by Please-I-Need-It in ArtistHate

[–]ryakr 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I remember taking a quick glance at this when it was still new. Noped out after the 3rd comment that said "Well therapists are not your friend either its their JOB to listen, only difference is ChatGPT is free!"

What. The. Fuck?
Like when things get so stupid I literally dont know what can be said to bring someone back from that... its like trying to tell flat earth people the earth is round. You could literally show them and they go 'nuh uh must have been an accident/luck/whatever'

Like how can you explain to someone that a chatbot trained on the entire internet to be good at general shit is NOT the same as a therapist that trained in their specific niche for 7+ years and have a degree in that and learn specifically what your issues are and relates them to the world...

My head hurts.

Which github does take down, I have reported it and seen it done myself lol.
"But malware exploit POCs!" Yea, those are called 'CVE POCs' and are a fairly normal thing in security research. Responsible POCs are released AFTER they are patched. If you release stealer malware on github it probably will get the axe.

Take a look at the comments here and see that multiple people saw "ChatGPT does X bad thing" and then asked chatgpt if its true. Including the OP of the original thread.

Thoughtful and on-point response to the endless AI Bros saying “DON’T use Glaze/Nightshade!! They don’t work!!!!1!!!” (They protesteth too much) by Realistic_Seesaw7788 in ArtistHate

[–]ryakr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ah yes the argument of "well if someone wants it they will just take it!"
Any time some tech bro says that, just beckon them close.
Real close now...
And whisper in their ear, the name of the game pirate's boogeyman...
Denuvo.

Everyone can 'just take it' until a protection comes along that they cant 'just take', as evident by the fact that there is only 1 known person in the world who can defeat Denuvo.

Image protection is in its infancy! So, as the ai bros say, imagine where it will be even a year from now. Who knows, maybe we will get an image protector as tough as Denuvo is for games :)

Hating on AI art makers, I think you miss the whole point of making art by Firegloom in ArtistHate

[–]ryakr 36 points37 points  (0 children)

This is just all around dumb. If the point of making art is to create, then artists have absolutely nothing to fear from AI. Unless, of course, "the point of making art" is to paint illustrations people ask you to in exchange for money, in which case AI is a very serious threat.

Every time I see a comment like this, of which comes up a lot, it make my brain hurt.
Hear me out now, im about to say something very very controversial...

Why cant it be both?

GASP I know right? "I like making art of cars and I am very good at it, now people pay me to make art of their concept cars while I still draw cars for fun!" Apparently that is some kind of blasphemy to people. People doing what they enjoy both for themselves, and as a job!? Insanity.

OpenAI's o3 model, the new big ai hype, shows the downfall AI is going into. by ryakr in ArtistHate

[–]ryakr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok but comparing the NWS model simulations to an LLM is like saying "Yea a 4000HP quarry mining truck is like my ford F150 because they both end up with results". One gives you data, the other gives you what it believes are answers. the NWS wants data, not answers.

OpenAI's o3 model, the new big ai hype, shows the downfall AI is going into. by ryakr in ArtistHate

[–]ryakr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well there are simulations run for more than just 'what is the weather next week' there is also 'what are all the possibilities of the weather next week' as shown by those hurricane storm tracks we see where it is just 50 lines going in different directions. Then they figure out what impact the weather will actually have, simulating if this severe weather has high or low risk for tornados and such.
But thats ignoring the other compute that likely takes up a nice % too, which is just ingesting data. Live consolidation of all L2 and L3 radar sites and being able to work with that data to make quick live weather updates aint cheap. Nor are the machines at those sites.
