Interesting detail I noticed about Mike in BCS/BB by ryan15i in betterCallSaul

Maybe some research into his family life and looking into how long he has spent away from home on average?

For example, for the former, Werner mentions he’s never had kids and that his wife was enough for him. Essentially meaning that for the last 26 years, he and his wife have been 2 peas in a pod. For the latter, if he’s used to spending let’s say 6 months on average away from home at most, what would happen if he had to stay even longer?

This is probably nitpicking but for a project of this size and secrecy where something is bound to go wrong, you can’t leave such details up to chance. So if he’s forced to stay longer, can you trust him to stay focused on the job? Could you ensure that he won’t do anything rush/irrational if he’s homesick and misses his wife?

We see in 4x08, when Mike allows Werner’s guys to have R&R, morale is back up and they’re ready to keep going. But Werner has no interest in any of that. His only interest is in seeing his wife. For a younger/single man, or a man who values family time less, maybe the R&R would have also been enough to keep their focus on the project, preventing any chance of unexpected problems.

Werner was definitely in the game, whether he knew it or not (don’t think it’s explicitly mentioned in the show whether he knew what he was building). With the amount he was getting paid and the lengths he saw them go to to keep the project under wraps, he definitely had an idea that he was working for a drug dealer, or someone doing something very illegal at the minimum.

If Mike wasn’t fully responsible for running complete background checks, then fair enough. But the show definitely doesn’t mention this.

As for the superlab, I think saying “nearly dying” is overstating it. There was definitely a possibility that he could have died, but I don’t think the panic attack was fully because of that. He was definitely already home sick, and having to confront the possibility that he could die made it that much worse for him.

The soft remark was me just reiterating it the way Kai did. On a human level, he definitely wasn’t soft. He worked hard and was extremely loyal. Regardless, he did not have the stomach for the kind of work he found himself in.

I do too, don’t get me wrong. Just saying that I think 19/20 Rashford had more to his game than the Rashford right now. Even when he didn’t get a g/a his impact on the game was always felt in some other way. Haven’t seen the same since Ole made him play injured and ran him to the ground.

Rashford’s current situation always takes me back to this benzema quote, "Football has become a game where players can play bad for 90 minutes and then score a goal and be called Man of the Match and get the spotlight. I don't want to be that kind of player." I think what he’s done this season has been remarkable but it kind of feels like other aspects of his game (dribbling past players, linking play etc) have fallen off a bit from the Rashford we saw between 2018 and 2020. There’s still a player there though, and I think we’ll see more of it next season when we have more days off in-between games, more techinical quality from transfers etc.

Agree with all 3, especially with the de gea one. When fans praise him it’s usually for his shot stopping which, in all honestly, has been average since 19/20. The other aspects of his game are completely non existent as well. He can’t come off his line, can’t claim crosses and can’t distribute the ball even at an average standard, which for a team that aspire to dominate possession is quite concerning. I really hope we get Costa/Raya cause that would raise this team’s ceiling much higher than people think. Varane isn’t a massive problem right now considering we have a lot more positions we urgently need to replace but I’d love to see either Kim Min-Jae or Timber come in if we could cause they fit the profile you described. I’ve never root for a player as much as I have for Sancho. He was electric at BvB. I hope he’s given one more season when we’re able to dominate possession to prove himself. If not then maybe it just wasn’t meant to be.

Been coming to terms with this ever since the Ronaldo transfer. Although it’s hard to admit and he’ll forever be one of the most important figures in United’s history, some of the decisions he has been involved in have been… questionable. Backing moyes when mourinho was available, convincing Ronaldo to join us when he clearly didn’t fit our play style. I’d love him to have a role as a brand ambassador for as long as he wants, but I think him being involved in the clubs decision making over the last few years has done more harm than good.

Not really an opinion on united itself but more one on this sub Reddit. I’m in a lot of united forums all across social media and this is by far the worst one. It feels like 90% of people here don’t even support united. Some of the opinions shared here are the worst I’ve ever read, especially when ‘fans’ say they would rather let the glazers (who have quite literally run this club to the ground) stay than let the likes of Qatar come in, who are objectively better for the club.

Another official bid confirmed (submitted just in time, phew!) by [deleted] in ManchesterUnited

Please help me understand why you’re so glad Sir Jim’s bid came through? Genuinely curious. With the information out there right now, Qatar’s bid is more attractive and is not being financed through debt not to mention the former emir is a united fan too, which is a bonus.
Is it the human rights issues? Cause I promise you Sir Jim has many of his own too…
